Pirates only Loading Every Other Boat.... Why???

So today when we rode POC (around 5pm), the wait was 65 minutes. We had a fastpass. When we got to the loading area, we noted that only every other boat was being loaded. Why in the world would this be on one of the busiest days of the year?!?!?!

Likely due to a mechanical issue or they were cycling addition boats. I can't see them doing that all day.

The ONLY possible mechanical issue that could have caused this is that the gates that open to let guests into the boats were not working on the second loading zone. I find that to be highly unlikely given what I know about that technology....

Either way I highly doubt they were doing this all day. It was probably just adding additional boats to the ride.

No, the boats were already in the queue. All that would have been required to load them was to open the line to that side. rteetz, you are just guessing about why this was, from your home 2000 miles from Disney. If you don't know an answer, you should not guess. It just hurts your credibility.

How does it hurt my credibility? You don't have an answer and you posed the question. I can guarantee with 99% certainty that no one here knows the answer to your question so all we can do is speculate about it.

It's definitely because someone pooped in every other boat.

There's times I wonder why they let a line form and not run to full capacity also. I wouldn't be shocked if it was a mechanical problem, probably with the pumping system that pushing the boats along. that's my best guess for a mechanical issue that would require half the boats to be empty if half the pumps were being serviced for a problem. but I also wouldn't be surprised if it was a staff issue like some people showed up unable to work or didn't show up at all and they didn't have the manpower that shift to run both sides.

WOW! That was uncalled for. Aren't we all guessing on here? Very few on this board actually work for Disney and its very likely the ones that do were not working Pirates.

My guess is there was a backup of boats at the end of the ride, and by loading every other boat it speeds up the disembarking process.

Wow, that's a good one! I think you are correct. I know that many times I've had to sit forever listening to Jack Sparrow rabble on in that treasure room while we're waiting to unload. If they do load every other boat that would dramatically speed up the unloading process.

lololol, no!! this is clearly the most logical and reasonable explanation because of the amount of tears coming down my face!!! :rotfl:That and poop happens, so, even on one of the busiest days who knows why they were loading every other boat;poop, protein spill, sick employees, Jack Sparrow wants a raise, who knows!!?? lol

Hmm, poopers working overtime. don't eat in the park LOL

I was there over Christmas and on our party night of 12/22 they were doing this as well with every other boat. We rode twice before on the 21st and 22nd and they were running full boats and both times we got very wet and the boats were leaning to one side and we noticed the water seemed very full. Not sure if there is a correlation, just a couple of observations (and guesses:rolleyes1).
