Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho A Pirates Life…Aboard Disney Cruise Line

A new Pirates in the Caribbean party is taking over the Disney Magic cruise ship, transforming guests aboard into pirates for the evening and treating them to a scrumptious dinner feast and adventurously themed deck party that would make Captain Jack Sparrow proud.

This newly themed evening aboard Disney's seven-night cruise vacations to the eastern and western Caribbean brings together the traditional cruise dinner and deck party with a rowdy buccaneer bash combining invigorating entertainment, themed dining experiences and brand new special effects for an evening that's perfect for every member of the family.

Starting in the dining room, servers dressed as pirates play the part by welcoming guests with customary greetings of ‘ahoy matey’ and ‘argh’ while serving ‘grog’ rather than drinks. Guests delight in learning the pirate lifestyle by donning specially made pirate bandanas and choosing pirate themed dinner selections from a parchment rolled menu.

As the evening transitions from the dining room to high atop decks 9 and 10, a treasure trove of entertainment opens with classic Disney characters dressed in pirate garb, high-energy special effects and interactive audience participation set to music favorites for a new kind of celebration.

The party gets underway with a pirate-style line dance as guests join cruise staff, Goofy and his seafaring friends in learning special dance steps set to a wacky chorus of “Yo, Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me.”

Impetuously the mood of the party changes as Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and their gang of ‘bad’ pirates take over the party with special effects including black lighting and skull and cross bone projections.

Just in time, and before Captain Hook’s able to enlist audience Dads to join his gang of pirates, Captain Mickey appears and saves the day, ridding the ship of the evil buccaneers for a swash-buckling finish.

Currently only aboard the Disney Magic seven-night itineraries, the experience is scheduled to board sister ship Disney Wonder and three- and four-night itineraries in early 2005.

We are on the 1/27 and this would be nice to have as we are taking some newbies with us who will be on the 2006 cruise. pirate:

Oooo, something new to look forward to!
We are sailing in both Feb. and March, so hopefully we will catch it on one of those cruises.
Barb

NO FAIR! Why do you get to go twice?

Hee! Hee! (I guess I've been living with kids too long!!!)

Yes, I guess you'll have a better chance of catching it then! Hey, Barb, while you are hear---we were trying to get a hold of you on another board a while back....do you know if they have fireworks on the Wonder (like the Magic does)?

Thanks!

:boat: :boat: :boat:

They posted that info awhile back. It originally stated that it would start in Jan. now it's saying early 2005.
I'm on the Jan. 9th sailing. Is that wishful thinking? pirate:

Where did "they" post it? Are you talking about DCL or these boards....I hope it's January, and I hope you get to experience it! You will definitely have to let us know!

I am SO SO SO EXCITED! I am trying really hard not to even think about it because it's going to be such a bummer when they say "early" 2005 means March!!!!

Let's all keep saying a prayer that it will indeed be January--a new year--a new dinner & party! ;)

What fun! Thanks for posting this article! :D

I can see the deck party being fun. And for anyone not interested they can go elsewhere on the ship. But I don't like the idea of all this forced revelry while I'm dining. This is a cruise after all. I wish them well trying to get my wife and I to wear bandanas at dinner. Sounds like Palo night to me.

"THey" did post here on the DIS, in fact I posted the article that was sent to me.
It was sent to me in a news letter from my TA.
I also read it on other message boards.
My point was that it's not saying Januaray any more, it's saying early 2005 which leads me to believe that they won't be doing it in Jan. :( I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Hey! My travel agent just e-mailed me, and she said even the DCL reps don't know an exact date. All DCL is saying "still" is early 2005! Let's keep our fingers crossed for January!!!

Can't wait!!
My girls should like this!

I'm on the magic in February and am excited about this. Does anyone know what night this is? Does it replace tropical night?
Thanks for the info!

I thought tropical night was only on the Magic...BUT I could be wrong! :earseek:

I just "assumed" it would be on the fourth night, since that is a repeat dinner night.

Anyone got any clues?
