Is it worth eating here?? my hubby and I went to DL for our honeynoon last year and in process of booking another trip for October 2006, last time we just ate in and around the park.

Is it a good experience to eat at this restaurant. Is it expensive??

Any info would be appreciated thanks

I love eating at the Blue Bayou. It has a cool, dark atmosphere and can be sort of romantic if the people on the boats aren't screaming at you. ;) The food is pretty good, but does tend to be a little pricier than the other eating places since it is table service. Our favorite is the Monte Cristo sandwich that is only served there at lunch. Oh, be sure to call in ahead for reservations. Lately they haven't been taking walk-ins. Hope that helps a bit. Anyway- have a great trip to Disneyland! :cool1:

We ate there last summer, and it was nice. Well, as nice as a meal with 4 adults and 1 gradeschooler and 3 preschoolers can be :crazy2::banana: We enjoyed it, and the food was good, although not quite my style.

I had read that they don't take reservations prior to the day of, but I have seen others here mention they made reservations ahead of time. If you are able to do it, that's the way to go. If not, I recommend getting there right as the park opens and making straight for the restaraunt to make your reservation.

We were not next to the water, but it was still a nice atmosphere, and could see the boats going by, and the shack with the old man sitting on the porch. The kids enjoyed it as much as the grownups. It's not too expensive. What I'd consider mid-range. If you are trying to limit expenses, maybe try lunch, rather than dinner, as lunch is typically less expensive, but offers many of the same items on the menu. pixiedust:

It is not only worth it eating there it provides the best atmosphere of any restaurant both in DLR and WDW. Make ressies ahead of time and ask for seats by the water Even if you have to wait a few miinutes I highly recommend waiting. As a little kid it was one of my neatest memories of Disneyland and as an adult that feeling hasn't changed one bit.

How many days in advance can you made priority seating, seems like this is one eating place I do not want to miss?

I think that Blue Bayou was a neat place to eat but they did not have anything on the menu that my 16 year old liked. I know they have a kids menu but not sure if he could order something off of it just to have food in front of him at the table. He is happy with a hamburger, hot dog, mac & cheese etc.. Do you think they would let him order from the kids menu?

I can't believe Blue Bayou is temporarily closed! I miss their prime rib :drinking1

Its pretty cool..... its a bit pricier than the other establishments(15-20 dollars a head), but the ambience more than makes up for it. I guess the only drawback is, whenever I've eaten there, there's always some guy who thinks he's being clever asking how your food is and if he can have a bite from the pirates ride. :P

That's hilarious!!! Not that he's asking for a bite, but that it happens every time you go there. Reminds me of a guy my DH knows, who every single time he goes to a restaurant and the waitress asks, "What can I get for you?" he replies, "I'll take a million dollars." :rolleyes2

It wasn't funny the first time I heard it, and certainly didn't get any better after that! The worst part was DH thought it was hysterical, and started doing the same! I told him that it not only was not funny, not charming, it was rude to the waitress, who is just doing her job and doesn't need that stupid (stuff) from a customer. He then noticed the eyerolls and gritted teeth when his friend did it, and it stopped. Thank goodness, it was embarrassing!

I experience that too! One time a guy yelled: "Hey, throw me some bread!!" Believe me, I wanted to!:stir: LOL.

I think the atmosphere is nice but definetly don't go for the food. We've eaten there twice and while we enjoyed sitting by the water and soaking in the bayou atmosphere the food was mediocre at best.
