Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride

The POTC ride has been closed since January (I think!) for a major refurbishment and was due to reopen on March 15th.

I have not seen anyone mention if it has actually reopened and there has been no big hulaballoo from any source that it has. Has anyone been at DLRP this weekend and been on it?

Has it reopened yet?

This is one of my favourite rides and we go on March 25th. I have looked up closures on DLRP Magic and it seems that every ride or feature that we want to be open may well be - seems too good to be true!

It reopened yesterday without any great changes

We are in the queue for it now! Kind of happy there are no major changes as I love it how it is!

Thanks Carrie. We ware just chuffed that is IS opened up again. This will be our last visit for the forseeable future, so want to make the most of everything.

I thought it was common knowledge that it was just a refurb and nothing else?? I would have hated if they ruined it like in WDW :-( I can't wait to get back on it!

We went on it on Saturday but when we first got there it was closed due to a technical problem. I don't know how long it was down but when we went back it was working fine.

The refurbishment was mainly a technical one to improve the rides control systems and to improve safety for Guests and Cast Members. New safety lights were installed and changes were made to the guest evacuation routes. New handrails and brighter emergency evacuation lights etc.

All the lighting and projectors in the ride it self have been updated to improve the scenes to make them look more bright and colourful. Plus the animatronic control systems have been updated.

The control room was also modified and updated, you now can not see the CMs in the control room now.
