Ok, forgive me if I put this in the wrong section. I'm still pretty new here it can be place wherever it needs to be if this is the wrong area. I have been hearing rumors about the making of Pirates of the Caribbean 4. I was just wondering if anyone has heard about this and if there is any ligitimate proof out on the net or anywhere that a 4th movie of Pirates is being or going to be made? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

between the movie gross and the merchandise we are talking a billion dollar property... i would guess if they can get johny Depp to come back, they will make Pirates movies till I am very old.

Well since I've started this topic I have investegated this further. It looks like it is possibly a go for 2009 Kiera Knightley doesn't want to return Orlando Bloom is I guess undecided both Depp and Rush want to return to their previous roles. Now nothing is set in granite right now I'm just reading this off of IGN website. Not sure what is truth and what isn't so I don't want to be resposible for starting a rumor so as far is this goes. I've love to see another Pirates movie. It is one of my favorite Disney movies.

I believe it will get done....CJS & Barbossa searching for the Fountain of Youth....The last scene w/the 2 of them in POTC3 solidified that....I am hearing 2012 POTC4 will be released, without Keira & Orlando (much to my disappointment) but 5 years is a long ways away, so who knows.....But POTC4 is a go.

It's not ''official'' but again, the end of POTC3 makes it seem blatently obvious, and as long as there is cash to be made from it, then it is a no-brainer.

I could see a 4th. And they easily could work make it work without Bloom and Knightley. That storyline has been played out anyway. Although now they have Bloom/Knightley kid's character to throw in the mix.
I think it would still be a hit.

I really hope that POTC4 is made but I hope it is made and released a lot sooner than 2012. Plenty of good storyline to keep the movies going and in my opnion one of the best attractions in MK.

Its not a rumor, its 100% fact. Depp has said in many interviews on many TV talk shows that he signed on for 3 more films to be made, AND that bloom and knighly do not want to be in them at all. They are both tired of making pirate movies. Party poopers. I do not now have any links for sources , but Im sure it wouldnt take much to find. Ill give it a shot and see what I can get over the next few days.

On an interview with Depp, I believe on "E!" or "Bravo" He was asked whether or not he would be in the next installment of the series. He said" I would love to be in the 4th,5th, and 6th installments."

This was released the summer of the 3rd movie coming out. I don't have the article anywhere, but I remember reading it and watching the interview on TV.
