Has anyone heard about Pirates of the Caribbean 4, The Foutain of Youth is it true?

Hey i Capt. Jack Sparrow as much as the next woman, but i am happy to revisit him in the old movies.

This one has to be seriously good to impress me!

As long as the same people return, i.e. same cast and crew, I would be there in a heart beat!

I love these movies and untila bad one is made, I say keep going!

Of the three main characters, Depp is the only one said to have an interest in returning. The story of Will and Elizabeth has run it's course anyway there is no need for them in any possible future POC movies. I wouldn't mind seeing a well done Sparrow/Barbossa POC movie though.

I have heard rumors of Depp being signed on for a #4 and #5 but with no promise of their actually being a #4 or #5. I'd be all for another POTC movie, but it would have to start to steer in a new direction. I am sure if their is enough interest (read: $$ potential) we will see another POTC. After all, Sly Stallone took Rocky though 6 movies!!

Oh god, don't remind me! I-IV is all I acknowledge...and that's an amazing feat in itself! Right up there with Star Wars and Indiana Jones...okay, maybe not that high, but sort of similar

At the end of POTCIII, Jack is reading a map that points to the Fountain of Youth, but it's written in Spanish, Aqua di Vivre (Water of Life). I can't remember the exact writing on the map.

He's sitting in that little boat looking at the map and the whole scene leaves the possibility of POTC IV.

However, I thought I heard it wouldn't even begin to be filmed until 2012 after several other Disney films were finally released and in circulation. So, if you are very patient, you may see one in the next decade.

I was in on a thread on this down in the Rumors and News forum. There is a good chance of something coming to fruition later. But, Depp is tied up on other productions through 2010. If he is interested, Bruckheimer is interested, and Disney is interested (which given the box office receipts WHY WOULDN'T THEY BE?) it is bound to happen at some point. At least that is my opinion. Disney has had their entire Pirate line revitalized by these films. Given past movies (ETA: I actually meant High School Musical, for which they just signed the cast for parts 3 & 4???) they have a tendency to beat a dead horse. Something that has become this successful is sure to get another shot. I would think the hardest part would be getting Depp and he has stated, during several interviews, he is interestedin taking this character further.


I guess in my mind it's not a question of IF, but WHEN.
