Pirate's League Review

Can those who have done the Pirate's League at MK let me know if you liked it or not? My DS will be 5 and grandma wants to get this for his bday present. Probably the Jake package but am open to other packages if better. He is shy and probably won't want to participate in the parade for pirates at 4pm. Is it worth it?

My DS keeps asking if he can do it again on our next trip. It was one of his best memories of that trip. The CMs do a great job with the kids. We were very happy with the experience. (I took a costume with us and DS selected the blackeyed Jack face paint.)

DS9 and DD4 both loved it our trip in December! The CMs were great and it was just fun. Your DS can actually choose which makeover he wants the day of, which is nice. DD4 said her mermaid makeover was better than the BBB!

My DS-6 loves it and wants to do it again when we go back in March 2014, and he was 5 the first time he did it. Only advice I would give you is if you are going to ride Splash Mountain do it BEFORE the Pirate's League. We learned the hard way that the eyeliner is not waterproof - He looks like an 80's rocker in our pictures from later that day

My boys loved this experience at the ages of 5 and 9. I'm kinda hoping they want to do it again this next trip, just because I know it was so fun for them. Plus it's a bonus to me that they get the experience but they get several souveniers to keep too!

We had the opposite experience! I couldn't get that eyeliner off to save my life, even with makeup remover oil and wipes!

My 3 boys did it when we went in 2012. They loved it! The CM's are really into character and the boys then got into it to. We didn't buy any costumes but had them wear the pirate Mickey shirts, then my mom found these cute skull and cross bones shorts. They then got picked to participate with Captain Jack show and they were on cloud nine! We didn't do the parade because at that point it was hot as hades (July 3rd), and it was crazy crowded. So we did alot of indoor rides. The makeup didn't last too long, they picked the skeleton makeup, maybe a few hours. But the experience of doing it was well worth the price.

I cannot rave enough about our experience at the Pirate's League in 2011. My then DS3 was excited to try it. When his name was called, the CM doing the make up was completely in character. He was loud, pirate-y (if that is a word!), and just all around great. However, he terrified DS! He immediately started crying. I asked the CM if he could sit in my lap, and he said that would be perfectly fine. He then proceeded to talk very calmly and quietly to my DS, telling him exactly what was going on, making sure he was okay with it all. He even stayed in character the entire time. DS calmed down, and had a wonderful time. I was so very impressed with how he handled everything. I highly recommend it!

Best purchase of our trip DS7 absolutely loved it. He has autism, and we honestly had no idea how he would do. Everything went so perfect - we just can't say enough good things about the whole experience. He's asking to do it again this year! Oh - it did take us a looong time to get the eye make-up off, LOL! I swear even the next day I could still see some on him!

It was a great experience! We just did it this last December and my son was 3. For halloween I ordered him the skeleton pirate costume from Disney and he was so excited to finally get his skeleton face Disney. The cast members were great and it was def the best part of our trip. Everywhere we went he got compliments. He loved it and can't wait to do it again in May. We also did the pirate parade and it was very cute. He enjoyed marching with the other pirates.

DD7 and DH did this and they both loved it. The ladies who did the makeovers were so in character. The makeover room can get pretty rowdy, but it's lots of fun. Our pictures turned out great and it was one of the highlights of the trip for the two of them.

Our two grandsons did this last April, a highlight. 4 year old did Jake, 6 year old did Black Eyed Pirate. It was super. And to cap it off, we did pairates and Pals cruise that night.

Well worth it.

We went Oct 2012 with 7 year old girl, 6 year old girl, 3 year old girl and 5 year old boy. All the kids loved it! I would do it again.

Thanks so much everyone! This is definitely going to happen now. I can't wait. Now if I can only convince DH to do it with him I'll be in heaven!
