My five year old loved Pirates League even more than BBB. Frankly, I did too. While the dresses at BBB are adorable, I don't love the hairstyles. This is the outfit you can buy there as part of the Mermaid Package. I was going to buy an outfit before our trip, but then I decided I would likely spend only a little less than the difference in packages so to save time and energy, we got the deluxe package, which included the outfit.

We dis it several years ago. My daughter a die hard princess ( back then ) said it was way better than BBB. I have to agree ! We all enjoyed the experience . I thought she looked way better than the BBB.

Does the make up "melt" in the heat? We are going in August, and are worried that the make up will drip into her eyes

We go in August as well, so I am pondering this for my granddaughter next August, how does the
makeup hold up? Also, what is the cost compared to BBB?

The make-up holds up really well. Once it dries you can touch it and it won't come off unless you rub. My daughter went swimming the day of the makeover. It stayed on pretty well even in the water. The shimmery glittery part did come off after swimming but the makeup stayed on for the entire day and part of the next day (although it was a bit smudged the next day after sleeping).

My DD8 and I both went with the Mermaid Makeover. Can't speak to the melt factor as we were there in November.

Great fun though. We each got our makeup palette, the hair clip, necklace, and the nail polish. And the mermaid sash.

The pictures make all the difference, you can read about it all you want but I love actually seeing the finished product! Thanks for sharing! My DD wants to do this and we were just not fans of BBB so were thinking of just skipping it, but I will show her the photos and see what she thinks after seeing them

Loved pirate league- did it when ours were 7 and 5, but that was before mermaid makeovers. DD just was a very rouge-y lady pirate. I think we dressed her in a sassy scooter skirt and a crocheted vest over her top that day, so she looked kind of piratey. The crew there is great, and it felt like a more complete experience than BBB, there were oaths and secret coins and pirate names. I also liked that both of them were included. At the time, it was much cheaper than BBB and with way less glitter (double bonus in my book).
