Aloha,

Just wanted to let y'all know about my unfortunate circumstance with Pirates League. As most of y'all know they started accepting reservations about a couple of weeks ago or more. I immediately scheduled appts for my wife and son on 28 Sept at about 4:15 PM for the first Halloween Party. Well, I received a call today from Pirates League wanting to cancel my reservations because it conflicted with a "Private Party". After much complaining on my part the only alternatives she could offer was to move up the reservations to 2:40 PM or accept a significant delay with my current reservations. I explained the 2:40 PM would not work because we would be napping (we hit the part at 7 AM, nap after lunch, arrive for the HW party at 4 PM, do the make-up, have dinner at Cafe Orleans at 5:15 then party until closing). I asked to speak to a Manager. None called back. So I called customer service who is curently trying to discuss the matter with the Pirates League Director and the Event Director. No compensation has been offered for my family's displacement. Just, "Sorry, hope you understand." Very, very frustrating. Ugh.

I don't get where you feel you need to be compensated??

I don't either, these things happen all the time with Disney. Everything normally says they have the right to cancel at any time. I would just change my plans to not need to nap, or to nap earlier so I could do the earlier appointment.

I wonder who had reservations first, guyinhawaii or the "private party"? If it was Pixiewings, it sure wouldn't be fair for Disney to bump them for a private party IMO.

Aloha,

To answer a question, I had made the reservation first. Final outcome...I shall keep my original reservation. The DLR "Events Staff" will be hosting a large private party (they wouldn't tell me how many) at DL who will enjoy access to the PL from 3 to 7 PM on Friday, 28 Sept. Anyone who previously scheduled a reservation during that time frame might experience delays due to the party.

My point, and I am sorry if I didn't explain myself very well the first time, is if anyone makes a reservation and then are asked at a later date by DLR to change your reservation due to DLR hosting a private party, DLR should compensate the family that has to feel the discomfort of changing their plans at no fault of their own.

Oh well. That's how I feel. Sorry if it doesn't jive with everyone.
