Pirates Lair

I have read absolutely nothing about him coming back.

Reasons he's gone:

budgetary concerns (that, if true, I blame entirely on Tinkerbell and her posse over in the grass near Tomorrowland)

out of control women giving phone numbers and drooling all over poor Jack.

Jack's true pirate behavior which amuses those not being snubbed, but can make others very angry. He also mentioned rum often, which might have annoyed some people. And of course as we all know, people who are happy don't tend to gush to management about being happy, but people who are angry do go see management. We as a family and I on a solo trip have witnessed two times that Jack was spectacularly and wonderful pirate-ish, and we/I loved it...but I'm sure the family he was being a pirate TO, and the people he wasn't talking to the time I saw it along, didn't really appreciate it all that much. I say, he's not Mickey Mouse, he's a pirate! But along with the other issues it might have just gotten to be too much.

I hope I'm wrong! I hope they can bring him back. Write clauses into his contract to try to keep the extreme pirate attitude at bay (boo, I say, boo!), surround him with other CMs so that women (and, I'm sure, men) don't attack him. Make sure he has no pockets to keep phone numbers, LOL. And so on and so forth.

That's what I hope, b/c my kiddo LOVES him, and Jack Sparrow has made up the two BEST character experiences that our family (meaning DS chatting with me and hubby watching) has had.

I hope they bring him back when the 4th movie comes out. He was a HOOT and everyone I saw around him loved the interaction..
My DGS loves all things pirate especially Jack, so when they met he informed him "I've seen all your movies!" The guy was great. he was sprinkling churro sugar on them and calling it pixie dust, and when he called DGD 'darlin" DGS was quick to say, "That's not Elizabeth...that's my sister".
We didn't have time to explore the whole place..they did a great job.

Aside from the usual letters and emails one can send to Disney asking for the return of Pirates, we can also bombard John Lasseter in person (apparently he likes to go to Disneyland quite often, and since he's high up in the Disney ranks he probably could put a good word in for our favorite character interactions if he hears how much people want Jack back from people in the parks).

I agree with all! I especially like your post Bumbershoot! And agree. Your post is humorous and interesting, and makes good points to which to ponder. Disney are you reading?????
