Pirates - Get very wet?

I remember hearing last year of people getting very very wet on Pirates. Has that been fixed? Any recent experience? I don't mind getting splashed, but really don't want to get drenched and walk around with a wet butt if it is chilly. Thanks!

We got soaked last September, the issue is the new boats and weight distribution. They haven't changed the boats since that refurb as far as I know. We now just request to sit in the back. Only the first two rows get wet, generally. In the back you may get a small splash from the cannons or something but shouldn't be soaked.

Some get wet, some don't. They recently this year added a warning sign about getting wet.

Odds are you won't get wet, and VERY SLIM chance you get soaked. I've never seen anyone soaked on the ride

We were just there. Other than a little mist or possibly a little from a cannon ball splash, you will not get wet. Really no water in the bottom of the boats like I have seen in the past.

I've seen people wearing ponchos on POTC but honestly, their either mega-paranoid or related to the Wicked Witch of the West. You'll only get THAT wet if you sit in the front row next to three sumo wrestlers.

We just got back. We were in the front seat - both heavy people, so distribution of weight was heavy in front (logically this should cause the biggest splash).

We did get a decent sized splash - my arm and my wife's leg. Her leg was largely protected by her bag. I would not called it 'soaked' by any stretch of the imagination. My shirt was a little damp on the arm. it had mostly dried by the end of the ride. Hardly worth getting worked up over.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like we will request a back row and go this year. :)
I don't think you should worry that much. In my opinion you're actually lucky to sit in the front! Better view and all. If you're still worried sit in the middle of the row as the water only splashes against the sides.

I agree....if you got to large folks in the fron, then the chances of getting wet go up greatly....I try to not be in the front

To answer the original question you will never get "drenched" and have a wet rear end. Wet forearm or leg, maybe, if you sit on the outside, but nothing like SM or KRR. Some of the locations of "You May Get Wet" warning signs crack me up! I don't know about you guys, but I've never gotten wet on Living with the Land...:rotfl2:

I favor the front of the boats as I like to get splashed on potc. It is very fun to me. On my latest trip (may) sitting in the front I got splashed, but not soaked. I would still say sit in the back just in case though.

We rode in March, front row and got completely soaked. I'm talking an actual wave of water. My son was sitting on my husbands lap and got it right in the face. That is sadly the last time we will ride that ride until I hear that issue has been fixed.

I've been on boats where people in the first couple rows got soaked.. it really depends on how high the water is and how much weight is in the boat (and how front heavy it is). It seems to be mostly the first 2 rows that feel it but I still protect cameras and things sitting in the back just in case.
