Pirates Event-Seating Chart

Just got my seating request-who wants to sit with DD and me??
Anyone going without a group? I thought it would be fun for us DISers to sit together.
I can fill out the Seating Request if anyone wants to join us!

I really want to, but Grandma and Grandpa are internet-a-phobes and think everyone on here is a weird sicko. They don't even want me on. They have issues!!! The whole Myspace thing is what did it. It wouldn't be a good idea if they knew.....maybe we could act like total strangers?!

Event Services is going to fill every table so it would be nice if people who had something in common (the DIS Board) sat together.

Everyone that puts in a request to sit together has to be in the same package so be sure to check that.

The group I am going with already has a full table.

Now....I have to tell you a little story about "internet people".

In 2000, someone here on the DIS arranged a Pin Meet at the Natick Mall in Mass. Since I live in RI, I decided to go. It was one of the first pin meets ever scheduled and generated a lot of interest. Many people from around New England that posted on this board were going to attend. Vince & Suzi (Parkhopper Vince & Parkhopper) decided that they were going to drive up from Maryland to attend.

We had never met but had chatted several times by phone and email, and had traded tons of pins so we "knew" each other.......sort of.

Anyway...to make a long story short, they came to RI and stayed in a hotel right over the Mass border. The plan was, I was going to go pick them up at their hotel and we would all drive to the meeting which was about an hour away. When I told my husband my plans, he freaked.

Him "You're meeting these people from Maryland and driving with them to the mall....are you crazy, you don't know them."

Me "I know them, they're on the DIS Board. I've traded pins with them, they're fine."

Him "I can't believe you're doing this, how can you be so dumb, yada, yada yada."

This went on for about a half hour or so until he decided that I wasn't going to be safe unless he came along. Now MIND you.......he HATES pintrading.

I asked him what did he think was going to happenand what was he was so paranoid about.

His response........."they're internet people."

He did come to "protect me", he met Vince and Suzi and it was all okay. They still tease him to this day about being "The internet people."

well-I have the pirates life with DD7 so if anyone wants to join us, I will wait a little longer to send it in.

I wish this wasn't the case. DH and I are doing different packages, so we won't be able to sit together. I'm doing Ye Swabs and he's doing A Pirates Life for Me, so we can't even sit together on the nights we're both at the event.

Well THAT isn't good!!! Maybe you should call. Not sure if they will make an adjustment but it's worth a shot!

Anyway-hope to see you guys there anyway! I have ordered my costume for night 2-It is erd and black with a long skirt-look for me and DD7! (dont know what she is wearing yet, but she probably has something in mind!)

Tier 1 paid a LOT more than Tier 2 and from what I have heard/seen both from the itinerary and friends that did Happy Haunts on the top package, Tier 1 will be treated differently. One example is everyone gets gifts, but Tier 1 gets Tier 1 gifts and all the other packages gifts too. If they give gifts out at the banquet, it would be hard to keep track if everyone sat all over the place.

I don't think it had anything to do with you. Most people I know are going with a group and probably have their tables taken care of. You will have a good time no matter what.

I'm not really sure why they are doing the seating this way, dividing people this way...I am going w/a few other folks and we all have different packages, so we're all over the place!

The last HHB ball we attended we had chosen the "middle" package. However we had friends that were on the most expensive package. We asked to be seated with our "expensive package friends" and there was no problem with our seating. We were seated at a table that was probably 7 or 8 "expensive package" and 2 or 3 "middle package". I do have to admit that we got a much better table than those who were all "middle package" or "lower package" becuse of our "expensive packagage" friends. I'm not sure why they wouldn't do the same this time especially if they were a husband and wife on different packages.

I wish I would have read this thread before I sent in my seating chart. I am so looking forward to going to this event. DH, DD and myself are all on tier 2 so at least we will be sitting together. I'll have lime green somewhere.
