We went last year and had a very entertaining evening.

It's perhaps a little on the expensive side (aren't they all?) but hey we were on holiday.

They did a good job, nobody is going to win any oscars but we all found it a great laugh.

There is a lot worse (Arabian nights), I'm quite sceptical by nature and went to Pirates expecting a bit of a naff/tacky experience but it was actually ok.

The food was quite basic but ok, the beer and wine was obviously cheap but in plentiful supply.

They try and make a story out of the whole evening. Starting with a pirate raid and the audience being abducted by pirates.

Above all the kids loved it.

We went the last time we were there 2 years ago and thought that it was a waste of money. Everything about it was poor and the kids thought so too.

I'm afraid I wasn't that keen on it either- I put it down to my not being too keen on dinner shows generally.

The ship set itself is pretty impressive and our 'pirate' was an exceptional gymnast, and you really need to get into the spirit of the thing or you won't enjoy it.

However, we were hampered by the fact that we could see none of the pre-show antics (you had to be right down front for this), the so called "museum" was dire and so this hardly bodes well for the rest of the evening.

I think it helped with us in that we went to the Pirates show very early on in our holiday and we enjoyed it.

But compared to the quality of the Disney shows Pirates isn't that brilliant.


We had a similiar effect with Universal, we did all the Disney parks before going to universal. I have to say we didn't think that much of universal studios but if we had gone there first I think it would have been ok.
