We are thinking of go to the Pirate's Dinner Show. We will not have a car and are staying at GCH. We would have to take a taxi to the dinner and we will not have a car seat for the dd3. What is the car seat laws for taxi's in CA?
And any insight on the Pirate's Dinner Show also please. pirate:

I don't know about car seat laws and taxis, maybe they have one you could use. I do know that unless your child is 6 yrs or 60 lbs they are supposed to use a car seat.

The Pirate Adventure Dinner was tons of fun!! good food with lots of choices and very entertaining. Enjoy!

My "baby" is 21, so I have no knowledge or advice about car seats, sorry.;)

But I will say that the Pirate Dinner and Show is very well done. Super entertaining and fun for the family. The food is standard fare, nothing special, but no complaints.

I hope you go and have a fabulous time!

I'm also not familiar about car seats. I suggest asking the Hotel if they know.

We are going to the Pirate's Adventure Dinner on Saturday Night. DD friend has never been and we are taking her for her 16th b-day.

We went back in 2006 and it was a lot if fun. Upon entering the building they will host appetizers and have a pre-show. They have a gift shop and bar.

It's lots of fun but I found it a bit difficult to eat and watch the show at the same time. My attention was focused on the show and not on the meal. I can't eat fast so enjoying my food was a challenge. I'll see how it goes this time around.

I personally prefer Pirate's over Medieval Times.

No advice on the Pirate Dinner but I have plenty for car seat use ~ I'm a child passenger safety tech. A super easy, inexpensive travel/back-up/seat for Grandma etc. seat is the Cosco Scenera, available at lot's of places ~ K~Mart, Target, Wal*Mart (I have a few) my DD uses it on the plane and however we get from the airport to our hotel and back to the airport. A great website for all ?'s car seat related is www.car-seat.org. here's a direct link ~ http://car-seat.org/forumdisplay.php?f=2 Let me know if you have any ?'s.

Yes, make sure you get there early for the appetizers, they are really good but usually go pretty quick. They had shrimp cocktail when we were there and when it was gone they didn't replenish it.

fwiw, we also had more fun at the Pirate dinner over Medival Times, we enjoyed them both but Pirates was more interactive and easier to watch. They keep the lights up slightly so you can even see what you're eating. lol

does anyone know about how far or how long it takes to get to the pirates show? pirate:

This is from the carseat.org site

Exceptions: Driver with certified medical condition, rural mail carrier, newspaper delivery person, trash truck operator,
taxi driver with fare-paying passenger on city street. Operators of limos, taxis, and emergency vehicles are responsible for
restraining passengers 16 or older in the front seat only. Passenger in sleeper berth. Farm labor vehicles are not exempt.

So you don't need one but I would not leave the safety of my child to a taxi driver. We are taking our boosters for our 5 & 8 year old.Yes 8 Year old.Without it she does not properly fit a seat belt while sitting on her hinny :)

It is good to seat a child safety seat tech on here :)

There's one problem with a car seat in a Taxi. I will have to hold on to a 20lb Sunshine car seat all thru the dinner show. Not what I would fun.:headache:

I am sure they would "check" it for you. Restaurants almost always have spots for strollers...I would guess if you asked they could hold on to the carseat.
