Hello,

Me and DF have booked this dinner show for Aug '05

It looked the better of the shows available (Dont think DF would have enjoyed the shamless Americianism of Dolly's show!)

Has anybody been to this show? What are your thoughts?

I would be interested in hearing what people thought of this too as we are thinking of booking this along with Dolly's stampede before we go.

we have done this twice and we are going back again in may.
food is not the greatest but edible and the show is great.and all you can drink beer and wine and coke.
there is a pre show where you can relax and have a few drinks.
we are looking forward to seeing it again.
we did the arabian nights show and hated it. but thats our opinion. :dancer: :dancer:

We hadn't heard of Pirate's Dinner Adventure until it was recommended by the rep on the first day of our holiday just a fortnight ago.

We booked a package that included transport which I was particularly pleased about as you get to drink as much beer as you want during the show so you really don't want to be driving to the venue. :)

There's a neat pre-show buffet included that has a varied range of food and gets you into the mood for the show proper.

The show itself was excellent, very entertaining and most definitely aimed at all ages, the food was good and the continous flow of pitchers of beer (or soft drinks if you don't drink) was the icing on the cake.

We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend this to others.

I have to say I personally have not seen this show, but have heard it is about the worst dinner show in Orlando.
We have been 2x to Dixie Stampede and its excellent... food and entertainment wise.

I have to say we worried too about the patriotism in it, but we neednt have.. it was great!

we went to pirates two years ago.its just a way of unwinding with something thats light hearted and fun.the food is edible and the drink we found was flat if you like beer!!!.its a great show if you have kids but beware they will!!! want a sword each after the show<fights galore>.

we have taken simon v advice and this time booked fiascos which is a madcap circus dinner show.cannot tell you much about the show but heres the web link www.fiascos.us

I have heard this from friends too, though I haven't seen it myself. We were told to avoid it at all costs.

We went in June. Great with kids, but not too sure that it would have the same appeal if we'd gone on our own. Our boys got to go on the ship, and at the end all the kids were involved in seeing off the enemy. Food OK, beer plentiful.

Not done many dinner shows, but we did enjoy the magic show at Wonderworks.

We have done the Pirates Dinner Show and the Arabian Nights last year (2004)

Unless you are big into pirates or horses I really would not bother - the food is pretty awful at both (the only time I felt annoyed at the pressure of having to tip truely bad service and food). The Pirate show was loud and I have really no idea what the story was to this day. The only good thing was the set. There was some participation at the end with many of the kids from the audience - but mine were not picked and were really upset to be left out. :sad2:

In both dinner shows we were herded like cattle, kept waiting around and exploited at every opportunity to buy something - they practically force you into having your photo taken when you arrive, so they can flog you expensive keyrings, photos etc.

Pre meal buffet - what a joke - a couple of prettzles if you are lucky !

We just felt like a commodity the whole time.

I had the worst experience of my holiday at the Arabian Nights- I found a horrible long hair in my gateau - which completely ruined my meal. After alerting the serving staff I asked to see a Manager several times - none came. On the way out I found the head supervisor and showed him the offending gateau + hair - to which he proceeded to say that I should 'stop moaning and just go on back to England' infront of a whole crowd of people. I left in tears - not that he could have cared less ! I wrote an email of complaint when I got back to England - needless to say they never bothered to respond.

In my opion these two shows at least are not worth the money and not worthy of your time - I have been exploited by far nicer people; who at least have the decency not to be rude to you when tackled about a valid complaint !
