I think I must be a lone ranger here - I do not find Depp to be the least bit attractive. I do however think this (along with Edward Scissorhands) is the very best role he has ever done and should certainly be awarded.

I thought I read somewhere that it is the POC in Disneyland not Disneyworld
that is going to be be closed for so long. I can't remember where I read it,
so I hope that is the case.

The dates I was told by someone who works in WDW Shops is April 24 to July 4. It will be open when the new movie premieres.

There is a thread about this over on the Disneyland board here at the DIS. I believe that thread says something like DL closure March - June, opening in time for new movie. A friend of mine is an admin for tellnotales.com, but I am not sure if any rehab news is posted over there (Ihave not had time to check, to be honest).

As for what will happen, supposedly the main scenes will stay the same but the Black Pearl will replace the priate ship and Barbosa will replace the captain. Jack Sparrow will pop up different places (like in the barrel behind the drunk pirate with the dog where the girl currently pops up). So, know it won't be a huge overhaul, but it will shift the storyline to make it the pirates are looking for Jack instead of just a random sacking and looting. That's the last rumor I heard anyway. Haven't seen an "official" storyline update.

POTC is a very popular ride so I cant see them doing a rehab on peak time. We are going in Aug. and I have never been to the magic kingdom and not been on it so I hope its a rumor. I do think that it needs a rehab though. Upgrade the technology in the audio and the AAs... Long live POTC!

I don't believe this one bit. It would be absolutely crazy for them to close PotC from May-September. First of all, it's the busiest time of the year. Second, PotC 2 comes out July 7, and third, I'm doing the College Program right now and they are still taking people in to train for PotC. Why would they do that if the attraction is being closed?

I'll definitely check into it since I'm at the parks every single day... And I'll get to do that every day for the next 4 months!

Oh, by the way - RIDE EVEREST ON YOUR NEXT TRIP!!! Hands down, it'll be the top attraction in WDW. All I can say is WOW.
