I've seen this quite a few times, and just wondering if someone can offer me insite to this.

When I've played POTC Capture, if our team gets the flag, moves it, etc but we die first (even with more coins) and the other team does not even get half way to their flag. They have been (quite frequently) given the score saying "their team move the flag closer to base" even though they have not in fact come near their flag, but we did move, touch, etc ours.

My question is. Has anyone else seen this? I just played a game, we won all 3 rounds - by the rules standards - but yet the score was 2 them to 1 us. So I am just curious is this is a common thing, a fluke, etc.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

Oh drat - i swear I made sure I was on the right board. :) Mods, I could use some help :)

This just happened to me too... dont know why... :(

Well this is my theory now lol. I've had it happen on every game where we moved the flag an inch to next to base but the other team killed us. So i'm going to assume that they have changed the way the scoring works and last one standing no matter who has flag wins. If this is true, it would be nice to have the explination say so instead of "such and such moved their flag closer to base" when they really didnt. To me it only causes confusion :)

Usually this happens if your team gets the flag, but moves in to an area the computer considers farther away from your base. So in theory, if your team gets the flag, but moves it away from your base and then you die, the other team gets the win.

Hey Ash,

Just to add to what Monkey said - There is ABSOLUTELY an area near that base that is questionable as to whether it is "front" or "back." If you drop the flag in that area and die, you could lose.

Hmm that makes sense. There have been quite a few times though that it is clearly on the track to progress and they have not touched their flag when it happens. Do you think that could be a fluke, or just one of those areas considered "behind"
