Pirates Being Refurbished?

Rumor has it that Pirates may be closed for refurbishing in February. Any word on when it'll reopen? When we last visited in 2003, it was closed for refurbishing then as well

How disappointing! That's the down side of going during the off season. We go during the summer when everything is pretty much up, but even then a ride might be down to mechanical problems, like Indian Jones when we went. Hope you get to see your pirates! I love those guys!

According to Screamscape, the Pirates rehab has been pushed into April. I don't know how reliable that information is, but based on the Screamscape track record, I'm more worried that I will miss Pirates in May than I am that you will miss it in February.

Our trip is May 10-15...so that's even worse news
Guess we'll just have to wait & see.... would be a bummer to miss both times!

What might be good news for you is on the disneyland.com site on the park hours/refubs it does not list pirates as being closed at all. I think the disneyland offical site is pretty reliable and I am hoping they are right (I am going the first week of March and I love Pirates)

I agree with PP. The only site you can truly trust is the disneyland one and even then it changes frequently. So just keep an eye out.

Thats my sisters favorite ride and we are going for her birthday in April, heres hoping it closes after our trip. We also are missing Fantasmic shes never seen it before and it will be down while were there as well.

Are there new dates now for the potc refurb.? It has alwyas been my understanding, that it is to close Feb.15th of this year, and re-open on March 21st. (Sigh!)

While you might have heard that is closes Feb.15 this year on other sites, the official disneyland site (link below)

I am going the first week of March and I hope it will be open. I am going to stick with the disneyland.disney.go.com site.

Per many CM I have been asking when I call including 1 who called the BB while I was on hold POTC is NOT going into refurb atleast during my dates March 5-12. Also I know the DL calendar has been having issues for months, but during the rumoured time Feb 15th it was listed, and is now no longer listed as a refurb closure.

Actually it was my understanding from Disney's site. However, they are infamous for changing their schedule, so that would explain much. (Sigh)

I've heard it's going to be a shorter one and pushed back to April. And I can't imagine that it will be down in prime time spring break, so I bet later April.
