Wow! We just got back from 2 GREAT weeks at WDW,and we went to the p and p party on the 22nd,the very first one. It seemed they had quite a few "bugs" to work out, but the fireworks show was AMAZING!
It wqs unbelievably uncrowded, which was nice, and we had a massive downpour at about 7 p.m., but it was so warm, and the rain ended,so we didn't mind! We walked onto every attraction, and had a blast!
We've never been in the MK like that! they let us in at 5p.m. with just the party tickets, gave us all black velvet bags, and we left at about 1 a.m.
the treasure lines varied from too long to nonexistent, just strands of plastic beads or hershey choclate candies, but the kids enjoyed getting loot. Myself, I didn't bother with most of that-
I thought they'd have more and better character meetings, but nope.
They did have one notable exception, meet Captain Jack Sparrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the time we figured that one out, the line was so long- like well over an hour, of course mostly the ladies.....so we ditched it and watched Capt Jacks tutorial instead- WOW! that was awesome!
Our only problem was being shoved rudely around by some guys from the Disney cruise lines who were videotaping the Capt Jack thing, and had no problems shoving in front of people without even an excuse me,at one point DH refused to let them push my little ds to the side (yet again) as they moved in pushy circles.....
And I do mean rude, they were pretty unbelievable everywhere i saw them that evening...... It would have been nice for their people to make a place for them,or let those of us around know they needed a little space.....
I liked the DJ areas, but not many people were dancing.....except me and ds and gramma for a while, much to the embarrassment of the kids!
Anyway,it was fun doing the entire Mk with no lines at all... and the last ride of the night, we rode Aladdins carpets, Alladin and Jasmine rode in the car in front of the kids,my kids had stars in their eyes!
The parade was small, but kinda' cute, though one of the floats broke, and they had a decidely unmagical looking man tow it the rest of the way...
I'm sure it was just 1st night stuff happening though, they didn't even get the promotional hats and things in till after our party! The Cm'S didn't seem to know what was going to happen, and the riverboat ride wasn't haunted, just dark,as the soundtrack broke.
All in all, a worthy endeavor, and the rest or our 2 weeks was everything it should have been, just wonderful! Only one rude group of young teens, and they scattered pretty quickly when I played the mean mama bear at them...
No rude people, cm's or anything else! the buses were great, and WDW was wonderful!
