Hi! DF and I are going to WDW in Aug. We were wondering if the Pirate and Princess party is worthwhile for adults only? I saw photos on All ears net and it does look like fun....not sure t is worth the price for 2 adults?

We have done character dining without children, as well as photos with the characters......so we are kids in our own right!:goodvibes

TIA pirate: princess:

We haven't done it yet, so I can't say for sure. However, we try to do the Halloween and Christmas Parties every year and everything else along the way. We are definitely doing the P&P party this year...and it's just the two of us. Go for it!!

You must go!!! I went with three of my friends (all adults) and had such a great time!!! The fireworks were incredible and the parade was alot of fun!! I had such a great time doing all of the special photo ops!!!! We all wore our tiaras!!! In toontown, the characters meet and greet have a special background that is specifically for this event and were soooo beautiful!!! I commented to a cast member that they should keep it up year round. Maybe that will change! :) But overall, it was a fantasitc event, well worth it's price in admission!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!!! princess:

I went March 8th which was the last night P&P was offered at the beginning of the year and it was great. I went solo. The fireworks were the best ever. The pirate tutorials were neat to watch. Plus by 11:00 there was almost no one in the park, all the families with kids leave after parade and fireworks so no lines for the rides. In August it might stay a little more crowded but it would still be worth it. IMHO

Be sure to buy your tickets online as they are cheaper.

My boyfriend and I already bought tickets. I am so excited about all the characters and extras, but am curious about the rides. Is alot open? How are the lines?

My DH and I went in January alone and had a fantastic time. We are taking the kids in August and I can't wait.

I went in March all by myself...I had a marvelous time...I went dressed in costume...Chatted w/a lot of lovely people in line waiting for Captain Jack...I enjoyed the parade a lot, and the fireworks were some of the best I've ever seen....Go for it!

I went with my daughter last year and think it is a great event. I loved the time I had to spend with my daughter in a situation at Disney where the lines were non existant (except for characters). I think if all the adults start going solo it will take away from the positive experience that parents have with there children at events like this. Before everyone starts flaming me I want to add that I travel to Disney by myself atleast once a year and I love to take advantage of any situation that can get me in a park without having to wait in line and is a party atmosphere. As others have siad the fireworks were awesome. My problem comes when I wait in line to get a characters autograph and picture with my 5 year old and can not make it through the line before the character leaves because there are so many adults geting there pictures taken. I don't have a problem with the adult getting there picture taken but I can honestly say that if I was by myself I would step aside for every child and unfortunately this doesn't happen all the time (and believe me when I don't consider myself a saint, I also don't like to lose a seat at the Adventurers Club at PI to a child). I thought the Pirate and Princess party was awesome, I'm just saying these events are for the kids but if an adult can have fun while keeping that in mind go for it.

I have to disagree with jeppers. Of course my wife and I are two adults (no kids) and love Disney.

I feel we paid to get in, waiting in line, we have a right to "be kids". I'm sorry if a kid misses out, he/she can come back later. I'm not trying to be a jerk and I've personally stepped aside quite a few time for kids, but my wife and I love to make these memories and have the pics to look back at. They are just as special to us as other kids. Now, we normally make our time very quick (picture in and out) to leave more time for the kids and I never rush anyone. But it is not like Mickey is out for 5 mins and gone, it just means you come back in 20 mins. Make sense?

I've also been debating the P & P and I think we might go this year. Seems like a fun affair.

I also disagree with jpeppers. You couldn't have made a sillier statement if you tried.:thumbsup2 I have done my fair share of giving up my seat on a bus or boat to children, or mothers with children. I also have let many-a- child sit or stand in front of me to see a show or parade. If I choose to attend any event, and I pay for my ticket, I'm going to do whatever I feel like. Do you suggest adults get out of line for Peter Pan's Flight because it's really "for the kids"? :confused3 I say, go to the Pirate and Princess party, and party your grown up butt off!pirate:
