Pirates and Pals Fireworks Wishes Cruise

I am looking to book this for my family. We are staying at the Contemporary for the first time, so it seems convenient to try (we always look to try one new thing each trip). It says 8:45pm start on an evening when Wishes are 10:00pm. I haven't booked it yet. Does this mean we arrive at 8:45pm or earlier for pirate meet and greet / ice cream and popcorn snacks? Or is 8:45 the time the boat leaves the Contemporary? What time would you think it would be over (and we are back at the Contemporary dock)?
So start to finish time? TIA for any answers!
