Pirates and Pals Cruise During MNSSHP

We will be attending our first MNSSHP the week we visit in October. From past history of MNSSHP dates, it looks like there could be up to 4 parties during the week of Columbus Day, and we will probably do the Tuesday party. I've seen where the Pirates and Pals Cruise leaves earlier during MNSSHP. I'm just in the planning stages, but a possible open night to do the cruise may be during one of the possible MNSSHP dates (but not our party day). Would it be better to do the cruise on a non-party day or does it matter? Are the fireworks any different at the MNSSHP vs. non-party fireworks?

Anyone have any thoughts on whether to do Pirates and Pals cruise on a MNSSHP night (that we won't be attending) vs. a non-party night? I know no one knows yet what the fireworks replacing Wishes will be like, but has anyone done the cruise on both MNSSHP and non-party nights, and does it even matter?

The fireworks are different, and Hallowishes is generally better than the usual fare, though with the new show coming, it's hard to know. Since the cruise takes place outside of the park, I doubt it matters too much if it is a party night or not. I do not know that much about Pirates & Pals though.

We did a Christmas party in Dec 2016 and watched the fireworks, and then did Pirates & Pals on a different party night. I had a MUCH better time on the cruise than at the party--and it cost less! ;-p The cruise was a RIOT (but we had an AMAZING CM whom we had already seen at the Frozen sing-along and MBYBBQ) and I felt like seeing the fireworks from the lagoon was seeing them as the show designer had intended. I know people say you miss some of the lower fireworks, but I didn't notice missing anything. Instead, I got the entire 180-degree panorama from right to left that you can never see by the castle. No neck craning, no need to pick up my tiny kids. Seated comfortably on a boat with no strangers invading my personal space. We had a late dinner and did not even eat much at the pre-sail reception and still felt like it was a good deal.
We did EMM at both MK and DHS, a party, and P&P. P&P is the one "enchanting extra" we would definitely do again.

We did the pirates and pals cruise on halowishes night and it was amazing ! That being said fireworks whether party or non party are going to great regardless. Do the cruise you will love it !
