We were planning on going to the Rainforest Cafe for our arrival day since we will not have park tickets for that day but I have been looking into the Pirates Adventure dinner as it seems a lot more fun! Has anyone been? Recommendations? Has anyone tried using a Groupon for it (there is one right now for half price but it is unclear if you are only allowed one groupon ticket per reservation and I'd like it for all 6 of us)?

We have not done that one but did do the medevial times one right around the corner and loved it!! I actually wanted to do the pirates one but at the time there were several that complained about the food not being that great so we went with the other, I have no idea about the groupon but I would also love some recent opinions on this we may try it as well!

We've been once, but it was in 2007 so I doubt the food is the same. We had a great time though.

I have been once too, also around 2007. It was fun! I don't remember the food all that well, so it probably wasn't particularly good or bad. The show was fun, and I picked up a T-shirt in the gift shop afterwards. I would say that I felt it was equivalent to Medieval Times.

We went to Pirates Dinner Adventure during our Disneyland trip to celebrate my DD's 9th birthday. It was a blast and everyone in our group loved it. DD and her friend even got to go onstage to help the Pirates. The food was mediocre but I expected such since I looked up the Yelp reviews before going. But we were too busy yelling and having fun to worry about the food.

We also used Groupon to buy tickets for a party of 10. We had to buy the tickets on separate Groupon accounts because Groupon would only let us buy tickets for 2 adults and 2 children at a time. Just be sure to call in advanced for reservations and have you Groupon ticket codes ready to give over the phone. Also the Groupon does not include tax and tip so they will charge you an extra 8 dollars per ticket.

We did this a couple of years ago. Had a lot of fun but as others have mentioned, the food was mediocre.

I have never used groupon before, it says the promotion is only good for 90 days so if I went a head a paid now for our trip in June and the prices went up I would have to pay the difference is that how it works? Also you said you called so do you have to do something different after you order the groupon thing online? I just signed up for groupon and actually have a couple things I would like to use them for for our trip but want to make sure I know what I am doing!

Your promotional deal through Groupon will only be good through the expiration date (90 days). It is usually like 50% or so off of the current price. After the expiration you can use the price you paid toward a ticket, but you would be paying the difference toward full price. I would NOT recommend buying a Groupon unless you are 100% sure you will use it during the promotional period - it will actually make it a bit more complicated to apply the funds later and you will not save any money. That deal is nearly always available, so just wait until you are 90 days out from your trip and watch Groupon (or other similar sites).

Like the PP said the Groupons do expire so I would wait 90 days before your visit to buy the Groupon. Again like PP said this Groupon for Pirates seems to run a lot.

Once I printed everyone's Groupon I called reservations and gave them the voucher numbers on the printouts. They need the voucher numbers in order to process your reservation. I also had to pay the 8 dollars tax & tip per person over the phone when I made the reservation. You also have to bring a print out of the Groupons to the dinner. They don't take Groupons through the mobile app because they don't have the capability to process phone scans.

Thank you all for your help! I called the Pirates and checked to make sure there was groupon ticket space (apparently they only allow a certain number of daily deal sites per night). They told me it was all good for the night we wanted so I went and bought our 6 groupons (went through ebates.com first so I also get 6% cash back) and then called Pirates back and gave them all the voucher numbers to make our reservation. I'm looking forward to it now!

We went to the Pirate Dinner Adventure in July of last year. We were taken by an Aunt and Uncle, so I'm not really sure how much it cost or how to get deals. It was more entertaining than the Rainforest Cafe. However, the food is not very good (think frozen dinner) and I am not a picky or sensitive person when it comes to food. I wouldn't have minded that didn't taste good, but it gave me severe intestinal distress and my husband horrible gas. :worried:

We've been to Rainforest, Pirates and Medieval Times. Each has their own entertainment value.

With the RF be prepared for the mist. It was a surprised to us...
With MT don't sit in the front row. As the horses rode by, they kicked up stuff from the arena that landed on our food trays.
For Pirates, know how seating will be for viewing the show. We were in the green section and the view was extremely poor.

If I go for the entertainment of MT or Pirates again, I plan to hit an Inn-N-Out burger place before or after.

Have fun
Geemo

We went in August 2014 for my son's 8th birthday. All of my kids loved it. I thought it was a good show and the food wasn't terrible, pretty much as expected for one of those places where you are all served the same stuff.

Wife and I went in 2010 with another couple. We had a lot of fun. Food was decent, nothing to write home about. Alcoholic drinks were good as well. We were just a group of 4 adults but don't regret not going, everyone had fun.
