I bought the soundtrack right away...but unfortunately, I didn't like it so much. Hans Zimmer took over for Klaus Bedalt and it's just really boring. A lot of the music is very cliche...except track 1 and I believe track 10....which both incorporate the more piratey music from the 1st film.

Have you heard Davy Jones' theme? Its AMAZING. The locket, and then the strings come in... omg. Chills.

Not to mention the totally Piratey theme from Tortuga.

I think its a great soundtrack. But then.... Im a music major. So I just really would like to conduct an orchestra thats playing this.

That techno is garbage though. If you go on the official site, you can download other techno versions that are better.

Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the first soundtrack. Many part of the music is very similar to Crimson Tide...which makes sense since he was the composer for that and he collaborated with Klaus Badelt in the past on a few movies. In fact, Zimmer supervised the first POTC movie's music. I sitll liked the music, but was disappointed that it was a familiar theme.

The music I really liked in the second one was Davy Jones' theme. Hauntingly beautiful.
