I think you misunderstood me....What I was and am saying is if an item can be traded then if I purchased that item on eBay I would rather that the seller meet me in vmk and give me the item than send me the code for that item.
Codes we all know can be risky in trading, bottomline.
I am not against selling or buying on eBay.I think that is up to the people who are buying or selling to decide.

I did understand the bottom line of it. I was referring to the part:
"As far as this code being reported on eBay as being good to use again in 90 days.....I think that is hogwash! This seller is just trying to get more for his product. Which by the way is free for the taking and they are selling it so why would you beleive them anyway?!?"
I thought you were calling him a scammer for trying to say the code was reuseable in 90 days, I was just saying maybe he honestly thought that was true, and was not scamming. I try to give ppl the benefit of the doubt, until they are proven to be guilty of...whatever they are guilty of! Innocent until....you know how it goes.
As far as meeting the seller to get the item in vmk, I agree. The only problem is, it's hard to do that (you have to set up a time/place to meet, and all that jazz). When I have bought cards, I ask them to go ahead and send the cards since I collect them, and to email the code so I can use the item right away. I have yet to buy anything where I had to meet someone in vmk, but I have sold something where I had to meet the person (pink slipper). Obviously, for some items like that, and of course the BIG DADDY Ebay selling item....inferno....you have to since there IS no code to send! I had the hardest time getting a good time to meet the lady that bought it, because of our differing time zones and schedules.
However, if someone is going to scam you on ebay, they can scam you whether it's a code they are sending or an item to trade in-game. They could send a bad code, NOT send anything, or they could just not meet you in the game or say they will, and then don't. I tend to trust that people will not scam when I look at their ebay seller ratings. I have only bought from and sold to people with positive ratings (and try to only buy from ppl with LOTS of postitive comments...high rating number, meaning they have sold a lot of items. Some people have vmk "stores" on ebay and sell lots of things, and they are reputable). Seeing tons of comments saying stuff like "great seller, got my item right away and it was just as promised..." etc etc makes me much more confident in buying things. People that are big sellers and have been on Ebay a long time are not likely to scam you, because they KNOW you will report them and give them bad feedback for the whole world to see! It's difficult to get away with taking someone's money and not giving them an item. It used to be easier (sounds like I tried to do it or something, lol, no I didn't, I'm just saying....) Ebay is a lot more "policed" these days than when it first came about. I never feel like I have anything to worry about when buying or selling. You just have to be smart about it! If you sell, dont' give the person the item until they pay. If you buy, pay within the time the seller requires payment and they will most likely ship the item when promised (if their rating is good). I LOVE ebay!
Ah, think of the world before internet....I know most of us remember those days...how on EARTH did we survive? What did we do back then?
Anyway, back to seriousness...I am sure everything I said is not news to anyone: but for those that are scared of ebay, as long as you play smart and by the rules, it's tough to get scammed on there. It is MUCH easier to get scammed on vmk than Ebay!

P.S. Oh, Mal, I DID actually get a code that did not work from a girl I bought from on ebay. Her rating was 100% positive, but she only had about 5 feedbacks (I only have about 8, so I can't say much....not everyone makes a living on Ebay!). I got scared/mad at first, but when I emailed her on ebay and told her, she profusely apologized and said she had mistyped the code. She gave me the right one, and it was all good

But I did get nervous there for a day or so! LOL
P.P.S. If VMK does not want ppl to sell/buy their stuff on Ebay, like what it says in the rules, they will make Ebay stop letting people do it. That happened with Neopets stuff on Ebay, according to my fiance (I don't play NP so I don't know much about it). Until they stop Ebay from allowing it, I'm going to keep on buying stuff on there, if I think it's a good deal! I would think vmk would like it: it's just another way of promoting the game and Disney...and since vmk is all about getting people to come to Disney and spend money, more advertising won't hurt them!
