We have an extra day that we are using as a pool morning. We have been reading about Pirate league followed by pirate and pals voyage. has anyone done this? Kids ages 5,9.
It's this or MVMCP. We've done the party once, but kids were 2.5 and 6 at the time.

Sorry to piggyback but how was your 2.5 at MVMCP? I'm taking mine next year (super early planning) and want to hear about your experience if you don't mind :)

I think the pirate voyage sounds more fun for the kids than the Christmas party. We did the party last year, and it was fun, but I think I would do the pirates and pals over the party, although we have never been on the voyage, so I can't say first hand.

We have done both. I personally would pick MVMCP but that may not be the right choice for your family. So, I’d think about whether you will have had enough time at MK on your other days to hit all the attractions you wanted to do, because party nights you can get on lots of attractions with no to minimal waits. I’d also think about whether you are parade people and will want to see the holiday parade at the party, or whether you don’t care and/or can see it another time. Also at the party are certain characters, are those important for you to see and take photos with or not. If none of the above is important, you should seriously consider the Pirates and Pals. My family enjoyed the party because we went during a very brief 2 day trip so MVMCP was our only MK day from 4pm -midnight and we just rode the rides and did the Wishes Dessert Party.

My kids really enjoyed Pirates and Pals. My son found a “friend” to sword fight with and that just made his night. The treats were nothing special but the kids enjoyed being able to help themselves to what they wanted. Meeting Hook and Schmee was fun, and Peter Pan at the end. I was underwhelmed with the fireworks view from the boat. One side gets a better view than the other. We were on the “other” side, and I really didn’t think the view was very good. I much prefer the Wishes Dessert Party to view the fireworks.

Hope this info helps with your decision.
