Someone told me about a pirate restaurant outside of WDW but didn't know anything else about it. We will have 2 little boys with us and have a car so don't mind leaving the World for one evening if anyone knows anything else about it.

I think you're referring to the Pirate's Dinner Adventure. Check it out on google for more information. We haven't gone ourselves, and it seems to get a lot of mixed reviews.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the information. I would appreciate any reviews and any info on obtaining cheap tickets. Some mentioned getting them at 1/2 price through a broker but did not give any further information. Thanks again.

We went to pirates last june but I'm afraid that we didn't enjoy it very much.
The food was not very good and was also cold. You could have as much soda to drink as you wanted but I'm sure alcohol was limited to 2 servings before you had to pay for it. I thought the show itself was ok but not great but my DD who was 9 at the time didn't like it - it was too noisy for her. I have to admit it was quite loud. Also you could only see what was happening on your side of the ship. My DH and DSIL didn't enjoy it much either.
Unless you have the V.I.P seating then you are seated on long wooden benches which are not very comfortable and you have to keep getting up every time someone wants to go past. All in all I would say it was ok but we wouldn't go there again - we don't think it is worth the money they charge. We would probably give it 4 out of 10. :)

We went a few years ago and enjoyed it. No the food is not gourmet but edible (It was like 1/2 roasted chicken, salad, roasted potatoes and I think maybe broccoli, something along those lines). We had VIP seating in the front row and the beer and wine was all you can drink, but I'm not sure if that is was everyone or just the VIP section.
The show was loud at times, but because we were in the front my kids both got to participate, which they enjoyed. I think we paid maybe around $140 or so for all 4 of us, I really don't remember. It was a fine evening for a one time thing, I'd say maybe a 7 out of 10, but I probably wouldn't spend the money to go a 2nd time.

We did not rate it -

Loud, with no real story line, food was poor and it just seemed to be one big money spinning machine (for the owners). We were near forced to have our photos taken so that we could be harrassed into buying them later.

We had exactly the same experience at Arabian Nights - which was even worse ! Staff were unbelievably rude including the Floor Manager (when I eventually got to see him) who told me to xxxx xxx back to the UK, infront of a crowd of people, when I dared to complain about finding a human hair in my dessert (no wonder they get you to eat in the dark !). I left in tears and had no response to the letter of complaint I sent when I got home. So much for customer service !

Whatever you do - do not expect Disney standards !!!!

Thanks for your reviews. I think we will find something else.

One more to let you know that's probably the right call. Went in June, food was not good, even by "mass catered" standards. Service was spotty at best. The show was impossible to follow. And the pre-show seemed designed to nickel-and-dime you to death. Another I-Drive tourist trap that survives off first-time visitors.
