Has anyone been to the Pirate & Princess party? What's it like? Would it be interesting to a 3 yr. old girl, 5 yr. old boy, and a 14 yr. old boy? We will be home from Feb. 2nd - 9th, 2008, and I am just curious about the party. pirate: princess:

I think the P&P would be interesting to any age. My DD is 16 and she is the reason we went in August. She was dying to meet Capt Jack. In addition to that, they have special shows (don't miss the Royal Guard Recruitment and the Pirate Tutorial). There are "treasure spots" throughout the park where you collect beads and chocoloate to fill the bag they give you when you get your wristband. The parade is unique to the party and not to be missed. We saw the second one and there were no crowds. The fireworks are also unique to the party. And in addition to all that, there were no waits for the rides. We quite literally walked on to Space Mountain and the Fantasyland rides we usually skip because of lines (Peter Pan, Snow White, Dumbo, etc.) Especially when you consider the DVC discount, we thought it was well worth the money and liked it better than MVMCP or MNSSHP. In fact, we have extended our February trip to include Friday night (using a horrendous number of points to do so) so that DD and her friend can go again! We saw lots of younger kids like yours that were having a really good time collecting treasure. They tended to leave after the fireworks though. We stayed until they were chasing everyone out of the park at closing!

I loved the P&PP in Aug. Have you been to the Christmas or Halloween party? We have done MVMCP and think that the parties are fun. The P&P party is a similar experience. There are special characters, activities, rides are open etc.

In August it was dead! I have never seen the park so empty. During the fireworks there was no one around us on main street. I believe that this truly added to my experience. I am sure that February won't be that busy either.

Well....you guys have made my decision for me.....lol! I will be purchasing our tickets this week! We will be home SOON (Feb. 2nd-9th)! I am going to try to purchase tickets for the Feb. 5th party!!!! pirate: princess:

Going to P&P party on 4-23.....

It is my DD's 6th birthday.....should be a magical day....

went last Feb. It was a great parade and fireworks show. That alone was worth most of the tictet price. We spent the rest of the time going on rides with no rides. We had a boat alone on IASW. Rode Pooh three times in a row without a wait. etc. We did have to leave around 10:30 because our girls needed to get to bed. We did skip the candy give aways - seemed like a waste of time. Who needs candy when you are in WDW? There was a picture taking spot that I wish we had taken the time to stand in line. It was with Cinderella's carriage.

If you don't know. They let you in at 4ish.

We loved it with dd 2.5 years. Went March 5 2007. Only isue I had was that it was cold. I am from Canada and wished I had brought my winter jacket.

OMG! I just ordered tickets a week ago (still haven't gotten them though, I hope they come soon) and this alone makes me want to go! We will be in line for pictures with the carriage.

Are you serious that we can get in at 4:00 pm? THe party starts at 7:00 pm, and we weren't planning to use a park ticket that day, so we are only doing the party. So are you saying that even though we aren't using a park day pass, we can get in to MK early? We would love to eat dinner there (love the Columbia House).

Thanks
DJ

It is true about allowing you in on the PPP ticket at 4pm. We use hoppers so by going in early didn't need to use a park ticket for that day (only the PPP ticket).

I hope my memory is correct about the carriage. I'm sort of doubting it now. It was a small version if I'm correct.

There is some major confusion about this.... I read another post that said they are no longer letting people in at 4PM.... That they will let you in at 6PM IF you have a dining reservation, otherwise they will only let you in at 7 PM.... I called today to purchase my tickets (with the DVC discount for 1/29/08). Cast Member told me he was not sure. The company had not made a final decision on this yet. Hope they decide soon. This makes a major impact on our plans. Where to eat and when.

As of now we are eating at the resort (Saratoga 5 PM reservation). BUT I would rather get to the park early if they will let us in.

In the past I believe they let you in the parks at 4pm.....

this goes for all the parties......ie..mvmcp, mnsshp...etc.
Of course all things subject to change at Disney:cool2:

True... we have been to different parties a few times and entrance was always at 4.... but there is some confusion as to if they are doing that anymore. The cast members are not even sure when you call for reservations and to buy tickets.... Best answer I was given came last night.... NO more early entrance unless you have a confirmation of a dinig reservation.

We went in August and are going again Jan. 21 (bought our tickets in like Oct. with our DVC discount - picking them up at Will Call). We LOVED the fireworks - it was such a special display, visible from just about anywhere in the park. We had fun collecting the beads & candy from the Treasure Spots but I wish the "treasure" was something else (like little gems or coins or something rather than Hershey's candy). The best thing about a party like this where you pay extra to be there is that the crowds are so low! We're only going for 4 n / 3 days over MLK weekend and have to go home the following day - this will help us ensure that we will get maximum ride time in the MK. We have AP's so we park hop and will be going over in the afternoon so the official entrance time escapes me. Last summer they sort of herded everybody staying for the party into Tomorrowland until the rest of the crowds were gone. So that was OK - we did everything we wanted to do there before moving on to another area. Then I think we came back & finished off with one last ride on Space Mountain before we left.

Have you already bought your tickets? There's so much confusion about whether or not you can actually buy for any date past March, I was just wondering. Don't want to get too excited until I know I can get them.
