Pirate night on a Star Wars cruise

When we booked our Western Carib cruise for Feb it was not a Star Wars cruise but DCL added that later. I'm fine with that, we like Star Wars, but for the dress up and stuff my 9 yo DD was really looking forward to the pirate dress up (ok I was too). I know that there is still a pirate night but that it is toned down a lot because the Star Wars day becomes the big night. I'm just wondering if the pirate night is still a big enough event for us to go through with doing a pirate dress up? Is there any ship/character theme that night or is it just a few people dressed up? We don't really like to stick out in a crowd.

Also, I looked at some personal navigators and the ones I looked at didn't have Falmouth as a stop so the Star Wars day was the day after Grand Cayman (which happens to be the second sea day). Our cruise stops at Falmouth the day after Grand Caymen so I am wondering if that would be our Star Wars day or if it would be the next day?

Last question, I think I have read that Disney also does a formal night still on the Star Wars cruises? I just want to be sure that is right before we pack formal wear, pirate wear, and who knows- maybe Star Wars wear.

I can't answer this from personal experience, but from other trip reports, it appears people do get dressed up.

Last year Disney cancelled all the Falmouth stops and then put SWDAS on that day. There have been no announcements that they will skip it this year. But, Disney does reserve the right to change the itenerary. I think we just have to wait and see. If I were to guess, I'd assume SWDAS will be the second sea day, right before CC.

Yes. Last year, formal night was on Cozumel day.

We're going on a West. Car. Star Wars cruise in Jan. I didn't know the pirate party gets toned down, that's a bummer!! I don't really care about any of the Star Wars things, didn't see the last movie and won't see the next one. My dd is 8 yrs old. She has a cute shirt I ordered from Etsy that has Minnie Mouse wearing a pirate hat on it. She'll wear it and then I'll probably get her a pirate hat and eye patch. I'll wear a blouse and skirt that isn't a costume, but is kinda "pirate" looking along with an eye patch/hat. I doubt if my dh will do much, probably just a hat/eye patch. I tried looking at old navigator's, but since they didn't go to Jamaica in the past, it's impossible to know when the different activities will be. I think the cruise I am on is the first Star Wars one that goes to Jamaica. I'll post about it afterwards so everyone can know how it's done.

Ditto, I love sea days. This will be our first time on the Fantasy and I already feel like we won't have enough time to do everything I want to do on the ship. We're looking at doing either the river tubing or the Green Gotto caves because they're closer to the port than other excursions and don't take a lot of time. I'd rather do the river tubing, but have heard that Jan. is part of the dry season and sometimes the river can have dry spots.

You will NEVER have enough time to do everything you want to!

The boat could leave Port Canaveral, do circles 30 miles off shore for 7 days and then roll back in to PC and I'd be just fine with that. I couldn't really care less about port stops. I paid for a big, comfortable resort hotel that just happens to travel.

I don't have any particular issue with Falmouth, I mostly just wish there was an additional sea day. It does seem that more of the excursions there take a lot longer to get to. My dd doesn't do well on long bus rides, so that automatically eliminates some of them for us.

Pirates? I've only seen it in the evening.

So one more question, I just read about the Prince and Princess dinner. Is that another themed meal where we will want my daughter to be dressed up? Do people dress up for that dinner? I am just trying to figure out how many themed outfits we are going to need to take- this sounds fun but a lot of clothes. Glad we are driving.

No, Prince & Princess is a menu (dining room) theme only. It's generally a formal night (or dress up night).

That being said, there's no reason your little princess can dress up if she wishes, and not just for that night. I've often see little princesses every night, regardless of what the actual night's "dress suggestion" is.
