Pirate Lair/Tom Sawyer's Island

I'm not sure how long ago this article was posted, but I just came across it tonight:

"Beginning in the Spring, Tom Sawyer Island will become a haven for Pirates. Among the enhancements will be a "Dead Man's Grotto" in the island caverns, a "Pirate's Den" on the Castle Rock as well as Buccaneer touches made to Tom & Huck's Treehouse and Smuggler's Cove."

So I'm a little confused about something. Is the Island being completely re-themed or is the Pirate stuff just going to be added to it?

Having a Pirate themed island is pretty cool to me, though I would miss Tom Sawyers. But I'm just wondering if this is gonna be a total overhaul or just some small additions/modifications to the Sawyer theme.

actually this is quite old news. but yes, its true and it already started.

I believe they are just added things. probably a half and half pirate island/tom sawyer island.

I follow WDW news a lot more closely then DL news so that's probably why I haven't heard about this til now

Still, it sounds REALLY cool and I'm glad they are doing a half/half thing. I love the original Tom Sawyer setup. But I'm also VERY intrigued at having a "Pirate island" to explore!
