pirate game for diving pin quest

I have to complete this for my son before I can do today's quest for him. I am wondering how the pirate game works for this one. It says you must stay afloat during battle. Does that mean I must play ship battle and be the only one left? Or can play either game and win? I haven't tried it yet but I'm just wondering how others are finding this part to be.

I just played ship battle twice, lost, and failed the quest so there must be more to it than just playing. If anyone else knows anything please help me out. My son doesn't have a lot of credits for me to waste just playing this game.

I've played what seems like a gazillion times and have yet to be told I've completed this task in the quest, so I can sympathize. There must be more to it. I'm on a lap top and it is next to impossible for me to manage some of these games without a real mouse.

If anyone can explain what needs to be done in this game for the diving quest, I'd really appreciate it.
