Ok, Since is it is hard to get into the level 3 of the pirates game this week, how about letting one side fill up with players before pushing the start button? I just saw 2 well known DIS people start a level 3 game with only 2 players.

Thanks for giving the rest of us a chance...not.

It would be nice if people would do this...for some reason Pirates will not let me start a level 3 game...and when I was playing earlier no matter how many other team ships I hit it, my points were not registering I went the whole game and score 0! LOL

yes please i have seen this as well and it is very annoying. we dont want to play against you we just want the blocks and credits is that too much to ask??? i have not been able to play a level three game yet.

I have even seen people start it without waiting for anyone else!

Although I confess I did this accidentally while going through the motions of start/level 3/ok - start/level 3/ok - etc. When one came up with the begin game button I just hit it out of reflex...

I have played a couple games with two ppl but usually wait for all red to fill up.

Another interesting trend: Red will be filled with newly-minted level three pirates and there will be one or two really good players on blue with the computer ships. I've seen the blue team win pretty frequently in this situation (not to my advantage lol). Sometimes the reds will tell the lone blue to get out of the game, but I say if someone wants to take on 4 players and can win - power to them! Everyone has a right to join a game on the side they choose...

I just got booted from one, because I wasn't one of their group. Tch, tch.
Right now, I can't imagine booting anybody. It's just too difficult to get one started on level 3. I have helped a few on lower levels, though while waiting.

Yes, that has happened to me from the very begining of my VMK days, especially in the mansion game.

I've never booted anyone at all from a game I have started, the only reason I would in the future would be if this person was being ulgy and saying mean things.

I've been playing pirates today, and in the great majority of games I've been in, people want to play with a team of four on the red side against the blue team comprised of computer pirate ships. This makes total sense to me because I, like most I believe, just want to play as many games as possible to win the ice chairs. Being an inept level 3 player (yea I am slow at this game lol) I can only win if the opposition is computer ships. I've been able to start a few games tonight. One time I did let a player on the blue team, and, of course, red team lost. Being bummed out, the next game I started I told people not to join blue side. Of course, someone did and I booted them (they were nice enough to call me a beach and I thanked them for calling me that). I don't think I booted dis players though, but if I did, I'm sorry. People join the game so fast, I end up clicking start before I even know who is on my team -- but I do let the red side fill up before starting. It's just a matter of basic pirate survival instinct ya know!

Courtesy goes both ways. Sometimes I am with three of my friends and we are all trying to get a game started. One of us finally does and everyone floods the game. Time is precious, so I ask everyone "please exit this game since for my friends" and most dont listen. So I boot and they come back or worse jump to blue side. So then I am booting and trying to keep track until I finally hit accept and have a screwed up game or simply cancel. I ask people pls dont join and they still do. Also some people's computer crashes if too many players so thats another reason. And does anyone really owe anyone anything? its nice but not needed. I admit to starting many games alone because I need ice and dont have time to spend 9 minutes on a game only to lose. I can beat level 3 in 60 seconds flat alone or with one person. Sometimes I join teams of 4 and everyone is not good so we loose and that was my time down the drain.

I too have started many games just by myself. I can usually finish a game in 3 minutes flat while playing with multiple players can take 5-7 min. I'm sorry if I offend anyone and have more recently been going to crowded rooms and starting them so ppl could join. Sometimes though I have to do it on my own. Thank you for understanding!

No one said you owed anyone anything sometimes it is just better to be selfless.

So the rest of us are trying for hours to get into game because the lucky few that do get in don't want to share the game or the prize with anyone else? We all WANT ice.

I'm sorry but right now it is just too hard to get into any game, I think it would be nice if you would let some people into the game. There is lots of time for games with only your friends (silly me, I thought we were all friends on DIS) but the ice chairs only last for so long. To start a game for only "your friends" is pretty selfish right now.

However, the 2 people I did see do it, have not spoken up on this thread.

well that is not as bad as me. yesterday i got into 20 pirates level 3 games and got boot from all of them for no good reason so basically i wasted to hours of vmk on pirates and i did finally play and it was cheap it was 4 on 1 and i was the one so i am really mad at vmk and might quit

Well if u are good a castle fireworks u might want to give that a try. It gives u more credits and if u come in first, u get two ice seats. And alot of ppl can play that game at a time and it is never to busy!

I do not mind playing with 4 people - the more the merrier, but I agree with Rocks - I boot people of the blue side. In most cases, I have a newbie to Level 3, and having even just 1 challenger on the Blue - we have lost.

Please note that also, I may have a group with me and if you join my game and you are not in my group, I will let you know that I am there to help other people.

So sorry for anyone who is on the blue team - I prefer playing against the computer - the computer player is predictable.

Cat let me know when you want to play - I have third level down to a science now. (I have enough Ice for me - now my kids need some.)

Well it 5;23pm here now on a Sunday, I've been playing pirate game--take that back -- been trying to play the pirate game since 10 am this morning when the game opened here. That's about 7 and half hours,
in that time:


I've manage to get into and complete exactly 3 games.
I have been booted from other peeoples games because i wasn't their "friend"
I have seen over 40 games start with only 1 player.
Over 100 start with only 2 player.
I have managed to start about 12 games my self only to have everyone leave for the game and I remain the lobby.
I have been dropped from the game in the middle of the first stage several times back into the lobby.
I have lost connection (I marked if off on paper) over 60 times today.
I took a break and tried the staff games and got dc 3 times just as I walked up to the machine to spin.

Obviously I will never get to play the pirate game for ice this weekend. In 5 days of playing I've got about 25 ice. So I'm quieting.

I'm taking a nap then leaving the house for the rest of the day.

Wow, Cat! You definitely need a VMK break, girl! Yes, the dc's are bad today. The Pirate game rooms are almost impossible to open and I've been sent back to the lobby many, many times. The 1-player games you see aren't actually being played. These are the games that are "almost" started but never really are. It's happened to me. LOL Also, I have started 2-player games. I will only wait so long for someone to jump in. Then I hit the start button. I don't boot red team members, only blue. I've lost only 2 level 3 games in 3 days, both to actual players on the blue team. So, no more of that for me! LOL Another reason is the fact that with 8 players, 4 will lose their ice. Not fun.
So, please don't be too quick to judge what you think you see, ok? VMK has been acting all kinds of wonky lately. I hope things are fixed soon! Took me all day to get 2 lousy blocks of ice today! LOL
