Was thinking DS 6 would enjoy doing the Pirate Cruise pirate: when we go in May. Wanted to hear from anybody who has done this and see how they enjoyed it. Also do they do this everyday? Thanks for your help.

We saw them last year when they went on one of the pirate adventures at the poly. They were so cute with their mouse bandanas on. I plan if lucky to send my grandson on his first pirate cruise this summer. The cost is close to $30. I found a web site that said is was monday, wednesday, thursday, and sat. They leave from the GF. I heard they may have another one at the BC. Just call 407-wdw-dine. :flower: :sunny: :flower: :sunny: princess:

My 7 and 5 yo did this in October and enjoyed it very much. My oldest can be timid around new people but she warmed up real quick. The CMs were great. They have everyone buddy up as they get on the pontoon boat (mine did not buddy up with each other). Of course my two thought they were going to find real GOLD but were happy with the trinkets they did get. We sailed from GF.

My three kids (2 dds' 7 & 5) and ds (4) did the Pirate Cruise last July. They had a ball. So much so that they want to do it again this year. It was really cute with the Pirate bandana with the mouse ears. They loved all the "treasure" they came back with.

Do you have to make ressies far in advance for these cruises?? I bet my ds would love it and want to do this for him and the Tea Party for my dd!!!

make your ressies @ 90 days and start at 7am to make sure you get it. My kids loved it plus I got great pics too.

My husband thinks that our kids will love this. (Ages 6 and 9) My only concern is safety. I assume that the parents do not go with them. How are they supervised during the trip? Do you know how many castmembers there are per guests?

My two boys loved this ! They are aged 5 and 8 and went in Oct 04 and will go again when we go in October. It was their favourite thing of the holiday.

There are three cast members and about twenty or so kids on the boat. All kids wear life preserves. They go off on the boat from the Marina at the GF wearing Mickey eared bandanas and visit the Islands.

They come back having "found" the booty and each child is given a bag of loot! They also get a snack type lunch. The CM's are great and are the same ones that my boys saw later on at the Grand Adventures in Cooking ...another great treat.

I totally recommend the pirate cruise. Call 90 days in advance as its very popular.

Denise  :cheer2: pirate:

I read in the Unofficial Guide to call 120 days in advance. Somewhere else, I believe allearsnet, said 90 days. Does anyone know which is correct?

90 days... I just booked for May 9th today.... tried yesterday and I couldn't

Thanks for the answer. What time of day did you call for your reservations? Did they say how many kids go on each cruise?

Sorry about that, klj27. I'll update the Unofficial Guide. Thanks for the heads up.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

I have read on here that some of those over 8 feel too old to be going. I think it will depend on who is on the cruise that day- since you can be 4 and go- there are many just potty trained children that go on this one. It would normally be something DS(10) would love to do but I think he is too old this time. DD(7) may also be missing it as for the time of the ships. I would hate to spend the $30 and then get there and have my kids not want to go because all the kids were young. (I have read that here as well.)

Java, they don't charge your CC until you are at the dock. I'm not sure what the cancel policy is because you do give them your info when you book the cruise.

I'm not sure if a 10 year old would enjoy it or not. Would he like a hidden mickey hunt at WL or how about the family tour at MK?

I called this morning and was able to get my second choice for May 4. DS 6 is so excited. :jumping2:

A comment on canceling the cruise, the lady I was talking with this morning said you have to cancel 24 hours in advance and that they charge your card the day before the cruise.

Our kids, DS-4 and DD-8 are booked on the cruise and both are verrrrrrry excited. pirate:

I have never heard of the finding mickey tour at WL or the family tour at MK. Can someone send me the link where I can find all of these tours and their prices.

Thank you
Suzy V.

My two boys, 9 and 6, did the Pirate Cruise a few years ago. DS-9 was really reluctant to go b/c he sensed he was the 'oldest kid there'. Luckily, another boy about the same age/size arrived and I convinced my DS to go. As someone else posted, it may depend on the day you're booked....

In the end, DS-6 enjoyed it much more than his brother.
