Anyone have any experience with the pirate cruise? We have an 8 year old boy and was wondering if this is something fun for him . We know we would not be allowed on, so as long as it's a good time, we will let him go.

Any thought?

TIA

My boys (7 and 5) did the Pirate Cruise in November and had a great time. You drop them off at the GF marina and you are given a pager, just in case. They cruise through the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake looking for treasure. They get a bag lunch (PB&J Uncrustable, gummi bears, juice, goldfish) and a Pirate "hat" with Mickey ears. Very cute. The kids are all asked to partner up, so if your DS is okay with getting buddied up with another child, he should do just fine. They end up finding a treasure chest that they open when they get back to the marina. Inside there was a bag full of goodies for each child.

Again, my boys had a great time. Hope this helps.

My son loves it. Enough to participate every trip. We love it too - nice break!

Well worth the $30.

I believe its 407-WDW-DINE. My girls ages 4 & 8 loved it.

UHGGGGG...wish WDW would offer tea party, pirate cruise, or something similar W/O PEANUTS involved!!!! :crazy2:

My kids (DS7 and DD5) did it on our trip in December and had a great time. I recommend it.

I Totally Agree! It's a shame my 5 y/o twins can't participate in the Pirate cruise due to peanuts. You know that is such a common food allergy. You would think disney would choose something a little more agreeable for a lunch!! My kids go to a public school that has banned peanut products because of sooo many kids in the building with that allergy!

My boys were almost 6 and 4-1/2 when they did the Pirate Cruise and loved it. But, I remember reading a thread here somewhere where a somewhat older child did not enjoy it. I seem to remember it being a 9 or 10 yr old who thought there were too many "little kids". There were definitely alot of younger kids (I think it starts at 4). If you think your DS would be bothered by that, I'd recommend trying to find that thread. It was in this forum probably within the last few weeks.
