My DD is three yo, and loves boating. She is fine with strangers and I would like to book the pirate cruise for her. The thing is I'm worried she will be so much younger than all of the other kids, and that she will be left out. Has anyone had children go on the cruise? And if so what was the average age of the children?

Our kids went on the cruise this past Memorial Day. They were 6 and nine at the time. Most of the kids looked to be at least four, although there were some younger there with their older siblings. Our kids really enjoyed it and they were well supervised. As far as being left out, our daughter said they tried to include everyone at different parts of the adventure. The kids were also given a snack lunch (PB&J sandwiches, drinks and another snack). Is your three year old young or old for their age? All kids are different - at age three, I wouldn't have put my daughter on there but I would have let my son go. I don't know if you can change your mind after you get there, although it usually takes about 20 minutes for the cruise to be under way. I hope this helps you!

When my children (aged 4 & 7) went the kids ran the gamut from ages 3 to 10. They did seem to be well supervised, and every child had to wear a life jacket for the duration of the cruise, so one of my big fears was handled. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, a portion of the cruise fee ($15, I think) will be charged to your credit card. If you're concerned about the cruise, do you think your daughter might enjoy the Alice in Wonderland tea party? It's only 1 hour long (as opposed to 2 hours for the Pirate Cruise) and you could hang around nearby at the Grand Floridian to make sure everything was going smoothly. Just a thought, Dopeydays. Even though my 4yo DD is very outgoing, I was a lot happier knowing that her older brother was there with her, too.

Thanks for the advice. Now that I know there will be younger kis there I know she will be allright. I was just worried it would be her and a lot of ten year olds.
