We will be staying with my Sister and her 2 boys ages 6 and 4 plus my DS 10 and DD 4. I was hoping to book the Pirate Cruise on a non-park day. Do you think the 10 year old will really enjoy it? How many children go at once (I'm hoping he'll meet others his age.)

Yea! - OT - I just noticed that we're at 100 days!!:Pinkbounc

Now I just hace to figure out how to edit my brother & family out of my countdown!

My DDs (then 5 and 9) did the pirate cruise last year. My 9-yr old was the oldest, but she still had a great time. They get to pair up with a buddy and usually seem to gravitate towards someone their own age. I think my DD's buddy was 8. They all had so much fun! But be warned... you'll be hearing "Yo Ho Yo Ho, it's a pirate's life for me" for the rest of your trip!

When I booked it for DS for this December, they said they only take about 12 kids. Make sure you call early if you want to get all the kids in your group in. It's alot like calling for CRT. Good Luck!

I counted 22 on my nephew's pirate cruise...I think they only take 12 through CRO and then the others are reserved for guests of the Grand Floridian and concierge guests. I booked it very late for my nephew but was able to get him in and we did it through the Poly concierge. I have heard others say only 12 are on the cruise but I have photos that show well over 20!

I'm kind of a newbie here, but what is the Pirate Cruise?

It is a cruise for kids only that happens at the GF. You must book it ahead and it is very hard to get a ressi. You need to get up early the day you are allowed to start your booking and call.

The boar looks like a priates boat they get a scarf to wear on their heads, like the mates on a priate cruise. they take them around seven seas lagoon trying to find the hidden tresurare. all of the kids I have seen get off this including our own loved it. As one poster said be prepared to hear Yo Ho Yo Ho, it's a pirate's life for me" for the rest of your trip! I also know they get some food on the trip around the lagoon.

My 4 & 6 year old DS's did the Pirate's Cruise last week and had a blast (although they shared very few details as they were busy checking out their treasure when the Cruise landed). There were at least 20+ kids on the cruise and ranged in age from 4 to 11 or 12. The older kids seemed to be as excited as the younger kids both on departure and return, so I would think a 10 year old would have a good time.

Thanks everyone! He is going any way - he can be very understanding bout being the big one in charge of the younger ones but I'm glad to hear thhat he'll probably like it for it's own merits.

I'll let you all know when I get back!
