Pirate Costumes

Also try Halloweenmart.com they have a good selection as well

When is your cruise? We are cruising on Nov. 11th and hope to get some Halloween costumes at 75-90% off after Oct. 31st. Also give Disney Store online a shot. pirate: Good luck!

I pieced ours together from ebay. Even bought a replica of the gold coin necklace featured in the first POC. I ordered a great dress for me, pirate shirt and pants for DH. We're DVC members and cruise every other year so we'll get our money's worth. You know with 3 more POC movies in the making that pirate's night will be around for awhile.

Disney has an ebay outlet....

I bolught a deluxe Jafar costume and convveted it to a pirate costume with accessories. Then my spouse a daughters bought matching pirate costumes through a DIS family that was on our last DCL sailing.... $5 each! She got them from party city on clearance!

Try ebay and google searching it. :thumbsup2

so is "pirate gear" pretty similar to all the medieval styles? Just the color combo you come up with?

Yes that's right. On my last cruise, I took an old pair of jeans and cut them off just below the knees. Then I shredded them at the bottom, wore a white peasant blouse and bought about 3 yards of stripped red and white cotton material from Wal-mart. This I tied around my waist and let the ends hang as my sash. Then I bought a fake parrot and wore him on my shoulder. I tied a red bandana around my head. My regular sandals completed my outfit! I had so much fun piecing it together and had a lot of great compliments! My DS was a dead ringer for Jack Sparrow. I bought his outfit from ebay.

Here is a pic of our Pirate costumes. Mine came from Buycostumes.com

This is our first cruise with pirate night. What percentage of people dress up?
Are most kids dressed up or does it vary?

My pirate costume was purchased from Ebay as well as DS9s. DH's pirate costume was pieced together from a Jafar outfit and a vampire outfit we already had. DD11's costume was purcased piece meal at Old Navy for a few $$/piece. The bandanas and various other pieces were ordered from Oriental Trading and picked up on clearance at Walmart, etc. We had lots of fun planning for pirate night - it was really a highlight of our cruise!

We got ours at Party City around Halloween time but they usually always keep some in stock off season, just ask. It was a mix of adults & kids dressing up. Everyone gets a pirate bandana & they "conveniently" have items for sale in their store onboard if you forgot anything. pirate: My DH dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow & was one of the lucky ones (or unlucky ones depending on how you look at it!!) to be picked to go on stage to do a pirate dance along w/ a few other guys. I told him you don't dress like that & not expect to be asked!!! He enjoyed himself in spite of it & my kids got a big kick out of it.
