Does anyone have experience sending their kiddos out on one of the Pirate Swashbuckling Adventures? We'll be staying at GF this November, and my boys (6 & 9) are interested. I'm assuming the kids are well-supervised and kept safe. Is it any fun? Would it be too young of an activity for my 9 year old? (It says you have to be between ages of 4 - 12, but I'd be hesitant to send my younger one out by himself without his brother). Just wondering if it's worth the money as an adventure or if it's more of a glorified babysitting thing. Thanks!

My kids are older now, but when they were 12 and 10, they went on the Pirate Cruise from the GF. Even my daughter that was older enjoyed herself. (They were far from the only older kids on the cruise.) I was like you, I wanted to keep both kids together so they could look out for one another. They sailed on a pontoon boat made up to be a pirate ship. They sailed out onto Lake Buena Vista? reading a map that directed them to an island to dig for buried treasure. The cast members spoke like pirates and they received bandanas for their heads and tattoos on their arms or hands. They also received a bag lunch and a goodie bag when they left.
DH and I just roamed around GF while they were out as we were staying at WL on that stay.
All in all, I say the cost was worth it. They are only little once and I'm glad that we went ahead and let them do it even though they were a little older.
Hope this helps even if it has been a few years. (2008)

My two grandsons, ages 4 and 7, did this back in April. They did the Albatross one out of the Yacht Club. They went into World Showcase Lagoon and landed near Canada and then on over to an area close to the Studios.

Well worth the cost. They really enjoyed a couple hours away from mommy (my daughter) and papa. We enjoyed it too. It is a well thought out Disney adventure.

thank you for sharing your experiences. If the boys are up for it, I'll encourage them to go. Might be a nice change of pace from the other busy days in the parks!

My son will be almost 10 when we go and I was gonna send him on the one at port Orleans riverside and was also wondering if it was worth it especially for the older ones

Both my daughters (8 and 5 at the time) thoroughly enjoyed their pirate adventure which left from Grand Floridian. They reminisce about it and were glad they tried it.
