Hi Everyone!!!

I was just wondering if anyone knew any details about the Pirate Adventure thingie they have for kids aged 4-12??? I know it takes off from a few hotel marinas, I know the Grand Floridian is one of them. Any info would be great!!!! Thanks!!!:flower3:

I have also been looking for info. We've booked one at rand Floridian for our 5 and 7 year olds. If you google it, you can find some dated feedback on it. Everything I've seen has been positive, so we're going for it. 2 hours and they give the kids lunch (since it's a peanut butter and jelly uncrustable, we have to order a special lunch due to our daughter's peanut allergies). We plan to bring books and relax for the two hours while the kids are on the cruise.

My DS5 went on the Pirate Cruise from the GF last Monday! It's pretty simple...you show up, the kids get life jackets & Mickey pirate ears (so cute!) They take your phone number or give you a pager if you don't have one so they can reach you if there is a problem. The kids are given rules - no running, stay sitting, ect.

Then they set sail, they go to a bunch of diffrent ports looking for treasure! They get a lunch and when they get back they get a bag of treaures!

I am not sure of all the hotels they are at but for sure at GF & CBR. :)

Here are some pics to give you a better idea:

I hope this helps! I would defiently do this agian - totally worth the $$

We've done it three times - we've never gotten the pirate Mickey ears (which are cute), just regular bandanas.

Its best for the younger end of the set - by nine my son had pretty much outgrown it (he went this year at 10 because his four year old cousin went). But all kids are different. On every cruise we've been on, the age has been weighted younger - lots of six and seven year olds, a few younger.

The kids go off in a pontoon boat looking for "treasure" They find pieces of a map. Eventually they find the treasure chest. The GF covers Bay Lake and the kids stop by the Poly and the WL (and do get off the boat). The Y&BC one goes into Epcot and I think they get off in World Showcase (before it opens), they also get off at the Boardwalk and the S&D. Eventually they find the treasure, and everyone gets a bag of pirate booty (junk like mardi gras beads, rings, tattoos, gooey squisy eyes and plastic spiders). They are given a peanut butter sandwich lunch (arrangements can be made for food allergies) and arrive back at the marina two hours later. Its enough time for you to grab breakfast at a nearby restaurant - not really enough time to make it into the parks unless you have a very specific goal in mind and are close (we did make it into DHS to take the littlest one to Playhouse Disney and back from the Y&BC.)

No parents are allowed, you'll be given a pager in case of emergency and will have to sign a release.

That sounds fun!!!! Thanks everyone for your help!!!:flower3: Does anyone know the phone number or where I call to book this??

Call the dining number for reservations. My kids did it last month and LOVED it! Very much worth the money- we did it at the GF, and it was wonderful to sit on the beach their with my husband for a couple of hours and just relax!

Any chance an almost 4yo would be let on if he's doing it with his older brother? My son will turn 4 three weeks after our trip.

My sons did it twice.
First time - 4 and 6
Second time 5 and 7
(birthdays are close)
They love love love it.
We did one at the GF, and one from POR.
We will be doing the CBR one in December.
two quiet hours while the kids are totally happy?
WHO CARES what it costs???:lmao:

Exceptions are not made (it has to do with how this activity is licensed under Florida child care law - if they let kids under four do it, they are in violation of their license. Its sort of like letting someone "almost" 21 drink).

How many CM's supervise this? I'm just wondering because in the pictures above, it looks like quite a few kids. Any chance of a child becoming separated from the group when they are off the boat? Just wondering how confined the area is that they are searching when they are off the boat. I am most curious about the one that leaves the Grand Floridian, since that would be the easiest one to get to from where we are staying.

That is my son in the picture and he did the one at GF. I thought that there were quite a few kids per CM's when we got there but they had a buddy system where they were not allowed to anywhere without there buddy. They also go over the list of kids before leaving each port. Also the bright red and white bandana's most likely help them :lmao: I was sure about leaving my DS5 but now that I saw how well it was run, I would do it again! Also I did find that a lot of the kids were a little bit older (than mine - like 7/8)

Also there is one at CBR that a dis friend of mine sent her kids on the day before I sent my DS on his. Mine had 23 kids? and her's had 9 :confused3

When we did the one at the GF there were 12 kids and 3 CMs. The kids are buddied up.

I was looking for this info today. I found all the info, now I'm having trouble finding the exact link. This one has some info;
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/kids-activities/

Scroll down a bit.
Some of the resorts that I recall that offer this are GF, POR, CBR & more. Each resort offers this at different times /days . Example- CBR is Tues. @ 9:30am for 2 hrs. Ages 4-(I think)to 12. (4Yrs, as long as they are potty trained)
