Piper's Practically Perfect PTR..Wish Trip! 3/2-8...Upd Pg 126- TR Link!! Hooray!

51 days! That means Im down to 52 days It's going by so fast. Do you know if their doing a going away party for Piper?

It is going by fast! From what I've gathered in talking to our trip coordinator, there is no send off at all. We'll get our plane tix, etc a week or two before we go, and that's that. I'm honestly fine with that, though I know Piper would love a going away party! If it comes down to it, we may have to just get the family together the weekend before we leave and do our own little party.

This is a brilliant idea! I'm so glad you got lots of goodies for your trip at Christmas. I'm so glad your feeling like you'll be ready.
I still have cute T's and capri's to find, not easy to find right now. I think Liesa said she just ordered some capri's, although she's much smaller than I am, so I probably won't be able to get mine at the same place she did. That's OK, I just have to keep my eye's open and ready to order as soon as I seem them, which I hate!! I like to only order or buy on sale. Oh well, it's Disney!!

Thanks guys! If nothing else I'll order her a cake (prob from Wal-Mart since it's the only place around here to get one and it would be hard to make myself without her catching on since she's home all the time) with a Disney theme and get "Wishes come true" or something of that nature on it, and pick up some other snackie-type stuff. When we were all at my Moms the other day, Piper was telling my niece Kassidy (also 8) all about what she had planned, then said.."and I'm going to bring you back a pair of mouse ears!" I love that she's still thinking of others, even as excited as she is for the trip!


Millie around us the dept stores still had them on clearance racks as of a couple weeks ago, it might be worth checking out!

50 days today, right?! That's so exciting! Our chapter doesn't do going away parties, either, but I think we may do something similar and get family and close friends together before we go. As nice as it would be to have a big party, I can imagine that it would also be overwhelming with everything else going on.

Thinking of you guys and hoping that Piper continues to improve!

Just checking in to see how Piper is today. You can be glad your trip isn't until March...it's colder in Daytona Beach today than it is in Juneau Alaska!!! I have snow on my pool enclosure...it sticks there but not on the ground. So I'm hiding out in my sewing room, one of the warmest spots in the house. Normally I have to run the fan, the computer, sewing machines and overhead spotlights usually make my work area a sweatshop, but today its nice!

Maybe a backpack or carry on bag with some "stuff to keep you occupied" for the plane?
She can get the regular ears or she can maker her own at the MK....pick out the beanie, ears, etc.

She's doing okay I don't check her sats every day, just because if I did I would drive myself crazy! I check her ever other day or so. Honestly the last thing I need is another reason to stress, hence why the big party not happening is fine with me, lol.

Oh geez...my Aunt & Uncle were leaving GA today to head into FL..I'll have to call her and give her a hard time! I can't believe you're getting snow!!! I bet it does feel nice compared to normal in your sewing room, my mom has hers set up the same way.

Thank you, Jennifer! We're doing good other than being housebound..the weather is just too cold to take her out. Gram was nice enough to come out today and bring us some meds from the drugstore we needed, milk, that kind of stuff. We're supposed to only have one more day of this cold stuff, thank goodness!

Thanks, Tracy! I'm waiting to see what comes from the Give, but I will prob try to pick her up something..maybe a Disney themed backpack she can put her things in! I'm spoiled..I like the classic ears, but knowing Piper she and Kass both will end up with something sparkly-shiny as we call it!

Geez..Lea..thank you!!! Piper and I were supposed to start doing movie nights this weekend, but didn't because I wasn't taking her out in the cold to get what we would need. It would be great to do our last one as a party though! I am so hitting myself on the forehead right now! Also thinking I have the stuff on hand to do Lady & the Tramp.. pasta (how easy is that), would just need to come up with something crafty..I'll check out the thread..thank you again!!!

Hi Tammie!

We're at a frigid (for us) 18 degrees right now, and the wind is howling! The temps are supposed to be going up tomorrow, thank goodness. Piper is doing okay, after I do her morning treatments I'll take her sats and update..hope for a rise!

Just a quick health update! Piper was running 92!!! off her O2 this morning, which is a huge improvement! I was also able to put the O2 back from 3 ltrs to 2! She was actually satting at 93 on 1.5, but the 2 will keep her more comfortable for now. I'm trying not to get my hopes up as far as avoiding the admission, but they're there..lol. We'll have to wait and see how she does with the lung function tests on Tuesday.
