Pipe work at BWI - has anyone been there?

I read on another website that BWI was having pipe work done on its corridors. Has anyone been there? Is it all torn up? We're staying there for the wine festival & I hated to hear this news. NOw, I wish I would have made reservations for YC or BC. Does anyone know anything about this?

We just got back about two hours ago from BWV. We did see workers in some of the hallways this week on ladders working on pipes I'm guessing. We didn't hear any noise as we were down by the tennis courts, but my daughter and son-in-law heard a lot of noise in the halls when they tried to take naps. So I guess it just depends on where your room is located.

The replacement project has been going on for some time. It was going on summer 2004 when we were there last. They were cutting 3foot holes into the hallway walls, but the wallpaper was leeft hanging over the holes. Small signs indicating work.

Overall, not a big or even small deal IMHO.

We got back yesterday and twice in the afternoon when we got back to the room for a break the painter was fixing wallpaper and painting baseboards, it was not a big deal. We didn't notice any pipe work being done.

Thank you for the replies. I feel much better. After saving for this minitrip for several months I didn't want it ruined by noise in the hallways. Dh & I like to stay out late so we always return to our room in the midafternoon for a nap. I'm just relieved that it won't be a big deal.

There was some plastic on the carpets and the ceiling along the cooridors were ripped up but it didn't take anything away from the beauty of the hotel... not at all!
