Pinterest.com question

I invited a friend to join Pinterest but it keeps asking her to link to her facebook or twitter acct. She has deleted her fb acct. and has no interest in going back to fb or joining twitter. Can you join pinterest w/out linking to one of those??? She has emailed pinterest but has not heard back yet. Thanks

My account is not linked to Facebook...I do remember having to login to my FB account to register? -- I only have a FB account to follow a friend in Afghanistan (literally, I have ONE friend!!) -- once I got a pinterest account, I am able to login and remove all evidence of my FB account. Good luck, I am addicted to pinterest!!
