Im new to trading and I've read that certain types of Disney pins can not be traded - non-cloisonné or non-hard-enamel pins, and epoxy-coated pins. The problem is how do I know what these pins look like - has anyone got any examples that you could post pics of on here? That would really help.
Thanks:hyper:

I had hoped someone with more knowledge would help but here it goes:

I went to the Collecting FAQ that is above your post and looked up the pins that couldn't be traded:

Here are some examples numbers from pinpics (www.pinpics.com)

24060 Pooh
29519 Stitch purple version
These are Sedesma pins which are iffy, some castmembers will trade, most will not. See the post on this page

4412 Rubber Santa Mickey
12104 DLP rubber goofy
Rubber pins are not tradeable with castmembers

2958 Service Award
7873 Mickey 40 year service award
Cast member service award pins are not tradeable with castmembers.

Hope this helps a little. Remember it must have a disney backstamp. Does this get you started?

Today I was at Epcot Pin Central and talking to Jim, who is the Pin Manager for Epcot (and has been for five years (almost)).

I asked him specifically about the Spanish "Sedesma" pins. He said they are Disney Licensed and metal and are therefore tradeable under the WDW guidelines and rules. He said that some CMs will make up their own rules, but under the published WDW rules they should be accepted by an CM when you make a trade.
