pins on plane???

Hopefully somebody can answer this quickly for me...

if we want to bring our lanyard w/ disney pins on it, can we put that in our carry-on? Or does it need to be checked since they're sharp??

I had know problems with carrying them on. I started off in Ca, went to Salt Lake then to Orlando. They asked no questions. I did ask before I checked my luggage in. (CA)
