I own no pins. Would I be able to buy pins at WDW that represent the years I've visited WDW to include 1992, 1995, 1998? Do you buy pins that you like or that mean something, like all your favorite rides? It seems like a lot of fun but probably a lot of money, also.

there aren't pins like that...yet. Yes, it can get to be a lot of money because once you do a trade you tend to get hooked but there are ways to control it as well. Pick a few favorite things to start with. For instance my main goal when I first started (on a trip) was attraction pins, especially my favorite attractions. my dd (dear daughter) collected most of the tapestry of nations pins (because that was her favorite thing) as well as dalmations pins(her favorite characters). Plus of course any pins that were just really special. Start small and look for pins you really like. Buy a few and trade with castmembers for others and really, just have fun.

none of us just poof! started with a hundred of them. We mostly all started slowly. one or two at first. We start with what we like, then select a theme (s). Then we love, care for, nurture and grow our collection. If you are addictive by nature, what more harmless addiction could a body have. If you are not, then you should have no problem keeping it under control. Everytime you start branching out and think it is getting too expensive or hard to manange go back and reevalute your collection and see what your "likes" have migrated to.

Meet people have fun !!

Starting is the easy part, it's trying to stop (or control) your pins that's the hard part. There are not pins specifically made for each year....... but, the millenium pins and the current Disney Store pins have years on them for which year that movie or character premiered. I know my DH who does not even collect pins, just confiscated my 1961 101 Dalmations pin because that was the year of his birth. Now, he wants my Disco Mickey because he graduated in 79. (I think he is getting hooked, I've been trying to seduce him into pins for a long time now..... yee ha!)

The millienium pins were sold in Disney Stores last year. But, you can usually trade for them from lanyards in WDW. They are usually on sale at the Beltz discount store in Orlando too. By the way, Beltz is a great place to get cheaper pins to start out with. You should always have extra pins for trading.

Have fun and happy trading. Keep posting your questions here.
