PINs--can they be shared?

The title says it all.....I have a pin that I doubt I'll use, can I pass it along to someone else? Never got a pin before and never used a pin before. We always stay on DVC points, not sure how/why I got one?

They are unique to your address or email address. I know people who have tried and they were told no they couldn't use them. Sorry

If it is Disney, even if they are able to use the PIN for the reservation, when they show up to check in and their names do not match the name on the PIN they could suddenly find themselves paying the full rack rate.

That's what I figured but it seemed like a good pin so I wanted to pass it along to someone that could use it.... thanks for the responses! Wouldn't want to put anyone in that situation.
