I have somehow managed to be in the orlando area from March 14th to April 6th. I cant believe how Ive lucked out! I am vacationing, then I have a confrence. There is a week in between, so I was going to have to drive home, then 7 days later drive back. (13 hour drive) then a friend invited me to stay with her while she is at a confrence! the room is paid for, so I only need park admission. I am going to purchase an annual pass, since Im pretty sure im bringing my boys back this summer for Star Wars weekend.

So here is what the trip looks like:

3/14 drive to MIL at Palm Coast Florida
3/16 check into Saragotga springs with DH and DS16 & DS8
3/21 check out of Saratoga and go back to MIL
3/23 DH and DS's drive home and leave me at MIL
3/24 rent a car and check into All Star Movies
3/27 check into hotel with friend
3/31 check into hotel with DH who will have to drive back down (sans kids)
4/2-4/5- confrence

So what does this all mean? Ive already planned the family trip. But now I find I will be at disney 3 days by myself, at least 2 days with my friend when shes not, another day or so by myself, and at least one or 2 days with my DH alone.

SO What suggestions do you have for:

1.when I am by myself
2. when I am with my friend
3. when I am with my husband w/o our kids

all of these are new to me. I have been there with multi generational family, with friends (with kids) but never with all this freedom. I can do GASP grown up stuff!

where do I start?????

thanks DISERS!!

All I can say is make ADR's now! I made mine last month for april 18 + so think about a nice dinner with dh and get that call in!

Wow! How exciting to get all that extra time. I would suggest you think of all the rides you especially like and doing those. Some rides have lines for those riding alone and no long waits. There's a forum for adults and those traveling solo---that may give you some good tips. Enjoy the freedom.

SO What suggestions do you have for:

1.when I am by myself- If you can sneak in a massage they are great!!!
2. when I am with my friend- SHOP, SHOP, SHOP! DTD is great for shopping, eating & catching a movie... Get a characher (sp?) drawing done up... they are so much fun and I always look back at the one I have w/ my GF and laugh my bottom off!
3. when I am with my husband w/o our kids- They have a wonderful horse & buggy ride at POR, its very romantic... schedule a few dinners in Epcot...

HAVE A GREAT TIME AND REMEMBER to
Dance as if no one were watching & Sing as if no one were listening!!! I hope your trip is filled w/ a bunch of magic!

Wow, ImBeka, sounds like you're going to live my fantasy!

For the days when you're alone, you might want to spend some time checking out other resorts (including the dining!) so that you can start planning that next trip. Also, any time you can just sit and breathe in the sunshine would be heavenly.

For you and hubby, make a short list of things you'd like to see that the kids would never tolerate. Then enjoy those things in peace!

Most of all, do what you FEEL like doing, and not what you think you SHOULD do.

so here is an update. I have made several dining reservations and am thinking about setting up my husband with the richard petty driving experience.
I made a reservation at Narcossees for april 1st in the evening, but I just heard they arent doing a fireworks show at the kingdom that night. Does anyone know if that is true, or is it a cruel april fools day joke?

For the week that i will be staying with my friend, we are going to the night clubs at downtown disney. I have never been to pleasure island. any recomendations?

thanks again!

:rotfl: That's soo cool - all that time alone! My sister and I were considering going at the end of this month all by ourselves. We took our kids last August and while it was super fun, the "I call front seat. I call left side. I call sitting with so & so. How much longer is this line?" that the boys did drove us nuts. :scared1: I've been without kids before, but she hasn't - poor thing. HMM:idea:

Have a great time!

Wow!!! I'll admit I'm a little green with envy right now with your free time at WDW!!

If I were in WDW by myself I'd do a spa treatment and slowly and leisurely cruise through the entire WS, have Mickey bars for breakfast and popcorn for dinner.

Enjoy the time!

3/21 check out of Saratoga and go back to MIL
3/23 DH and DS's drive home and leave me at MIL
3/24 rent a car and check into All Star Movies

I need help with the transportation portion. I will be leaving the world to go back to Palm Coast Florida where my MIL lives. I will be with my husband. He leaves with our van, and I will need to get BACK to the world on the 24th and will need a car until the 27th when my friend gets to town.

so, do I rent a car in orlando, and pay for days I dont need (weekend at my mil) or is there some way to get from Palm Coast back to the world. I would also need to get from the world to an orlando holiday inn where I am staying with my friend.

Ive thought about taking a taxi from palm coast to disney, then I would need to take a taxi from disney to the holiday inn. Wouldnt that be more than a rental car?
I hope this is making sense....

17 days until the dream trip :)

I'm not worried about the trip nearly as much as I am about what is going to happen here at home the week the DH and DSs are here alone, then the following week when my mom is here with the DSs......

Will I have a house to come back to?! LOL

any suggestions on where to spend easter day? I have an annual pass so park entry is not a concern.
