I have FD pin and have booked a room but I was looking at doing a split stay. When I called it increased my package significantly because the CM said I had to buy 3 day park passes because the passes are tied to the reservation. Does this make sense? I was originally booked at POFQ for 5 nights at $2300 (upgraded dining). I was changing to 2 nights at Pop and 3 nights at AK which by my estimates would work out for about the same price but she had my 2 nights at POP at 1,425. Can this be right???

Anybody else done a split stay with a pin code for dining? The pin requires that you stay 5 nights and book a package.

If your doing a split stay then you need 2 reservations. In order to get the FD you have to purchase the package at each resort so the cost of the tickets has a big increase. You didn't say when your going or if your just getting base tickets or add ons, but that price could certainly be right. You'd be paying for 2 nights at Pop with 3 day tickets and then 3 nights at AKL with 3 or 4 day tickets.

As far as Disney is concerned, there is no such thing as a "split stay." They are two separate reservations for the same party that happen to be back to back. They're treated the same way whether you check into the second hotel the next day, or six months later. If you want to use a PIN or a GP code or any other similar discount, each reservation must meet all the requirements of the offer independently. If the offer requires tickets, you must purchase the minimum number of tickets for each leg of your "split stay."

If you are adding dining (whether paying for it or offered free in a free dining package) you will need to add tickets. Free dining will have a minimum number of days. If you pay for dining, you will only need 1-day ticket for each member. If you are doing a split-stay, each of your ressies will need tickets.

One alternative is to book your first stay as a package with tickets and dining and the second stay with a room-only discount. This makes particular sense if the second stay is at a deluxe, since a % off room only discount is often a better deal than free dining.
