Pin Trading

Durring our last cruise we traded with Cast Members and got alot of lanyard pins. I was just wondering how the trading is doing on board now???? I have my traders all ready and am trying to decide if I really need to pack them or not. Anyone who has been on a cruise recently notice much trading going on?

There is an hour of official trading each night, but we didn't see much going on. My daughter, however, was the pin trading queen with the CMs -- she would see a pin she liked from half a ship away. The CMs in Mickey's Mates and Treasure Ketch were very friendly and traded with her a lot.

There were LOTS of lanyard series 2 pins on CM's lanyards. Pin trading at 7:30 was disappointing as not many on our cruise were trading. I think my son made 3 trades off lanyards. We already have the lanyard series completed, so he was looking for any cruise pins on lanyards.

There was a decent amount of pin trading on my last cruise. My kids and I like the pin trading with the officers on Monday night.
The only problem I saw was that most CMs did not know much about puin trading, most did not know waht a lanyard pin is, and some even traded pins that were part of a set (that should be traded together)
It's best to be in the know and be with your kids when trading on the cruise (CMs even took Sedesma pins, which are not taken at WDW anymore)
