Talk to me about the whole pin trading thing :chat:

We have never gotten into that on our previous trips, but thought our DS's might like it...and I wanted to learn some about it.

I know there is a wealth of stuff to know...and I know nothing :( Enlighten me :hyper:

How do you start? How do you trade? Is there pin-trading etiquette that I should know?

Is this something I want to suggest to my sons...7 (will be 8 on our trip :jester: ) and 9?

We really enjoyed it last year and are looking forward to it again this year. I bought a laynard at the Disney Store that had two sets of two pins. Keep one and trade one. We only traded with the CM. They will trade for anything except a duplicate of something that they already have. You can just walk up to any of them and ask to look at their laynard. Early in the morning is the best time when they have just come in to work. I think that they are given pins to trade each day so that is why early is best. There are some other areas where individuals can trade but we didn't do that. It was a lot of fun and a great way to talk to the different CM's. We met some really great people. Be on the lookout at the Disney store for pins on sale because they are great to trade. I bought several after Christmas for like $2.00 that we plan on taking to trade.

I'm going to move this to our Collector' Board for you
